He heard the guy sigh as he stood in one spot. He ended up looking up.

Mike held his breath and shut his eyes hoping this man wont notice him. He was feeling sick to his stomache. He opened his eyes and looked over at Peter who had a scared look on his face. Then he looked down and the guy had looked away. Not even noticing that Mike was in the tree.

Mike finally relaxed as he leaned on a branch. There was a second person to approach the guy under Mike. Mike continued to hold his breath as a group was forming right under him. Someone else came up from the side where Peter was and stood under him. Peter had to put a hand over his mouth so he wouldn't make a noise. He eyed Micky. The look on his eyes told Micky that he was terrified of making a sound and getting everyone caught.

Micky put his finger up to his lips to tell Peter to keep quiet.

Man #1: "He's gone. Where could he have gone?"

Man #2: "He had help escaping. He couldn't get out by himself. Someone helped him."

Man #1: "But who sir?"

Man #2: "The only person capeable of it. The one person we are after."

Man #1: "How do you know it was him sir?"

Man #2: "Because he will go through many lengths to save his friend. That's what he does. He will protect his friends at all cost. But he can't protect himself." He said as he looked up in the tree that Mike was at.

Mike's heart stopped. He was spotted. He wasn't sure if they knew the others were there.

Man #2: "Alright Mr. Nesmith, get down here and we will kill you quickly. If we have to come up there, your death will be slow."

"Alright. Alright." He eyed Micky and mentally told him to stay where he was at. Micky knew what he was trying to tell him, so he stayed put. He was terrified of what would happen to Mike now that he knew what was going on and why Mike was a victim.

Mike slowly got down from the tree and raised his hands to surrender. Peter tried to yell out to Mike but Micky told him to be quiet.

"Finally! We have him. The right one I might add."

"Not so tough without your friends are you?"

"I don't need my friends to be tough. I have been running from you for 6 months. I'm basically done running from you." Mike said not even looking scared.

"Is that so? You have decided to be a big boy and not run away from what scares you?"

"Look. I know what your plan is."

"Thats only because you overheard us talking 6 months ago. I'm surprised you didn't go running home to your buddies and telling them what you witnessed. You didn't just witness what we said did you?"

"No. I also witnessed you kill someone in cold blood. Its not something I choose to remember."

"But its so hard to forget witnessing a murder. Don't you think?"

Mike stayed quiet as the memories of what happened that day came flooding back to him. He didn't want to remember. He knew the other monkees were hearing what really happened that night. He honestly didnt want them to know what happened. But there is no preventing it now.

"Not if you block it out of your memory for a while."

"You know, I bet for the first few months, you didn't get any sleep. Am I right?"

Mike didn't say anything. He now wished his friends weren't there to witness this.

"So, you're coming with us. And don't try to resist. If you do, we will have to knock you out. And I don't wanna have to drag you all the way back. Got it?"

Mike nodded. Once they started walking, Mike gave the signal to Micky to get out of there and for them to get to a safe place. Micky had become terrified now. He was the first one out of the tree followed by Davy and then Peter.

"What was that all about? Why did they take Mike?" Peter asked still confused.

"Because apparently, he didn't just intercept some information. The information that he intercepted was witnessing a murder Pete. That's why Mike never said anything to us. He didn't want us involved in whatever he was wrapped up in. They somehow saw Mike when he was up in the tree. But how? As far as I know, he kept quiet."

"We need to get him back before they do kill him." Davy spoke as they began to walk in the opposite direction.

Mike's POV

I knew exactly what they wanted. I saw something I shouldn't have. My friends have just found out that I was in some serious trouble now. These guys sent several of my previous enemies to try to get rid of me. That night that Babyface had put a bullet through my shoulder, he made up a story about getting Micky back.

6 months ago, I remember hearing some voices. So, I did what any normal person would do. I went to see what was going down. It turns out to be a big mistake because now I've been running for my life for 6 months. They sent an assassin to my home when I was the only one there and everyone else had gone down to the beach. This happened a few weeks after everything went down.

"So, tell me, are you planning to escape?" The guy to my left had asked me. He was apparently the leader. I could tell by the way he was acting. He ordered the others around as if they worked for him.

"No. I'm not planning an escape."

"Are you lying to me Mr. Nesmith?"

"No. I'm not lying. I'm not a liar. Tell me, that guy you killed, why did you do it?"

"Because he did the same thing you did. He witnessed a murder of a 23 year old boy who owed us money and refused to pay it. You know, you were so difficult to find. It only took us several days to find you and follow you home. And that assassin we sent, we didn't just fire him. We killed him as well. So, now we are going to kill you slowly because it took us 6 months to finally kill you. Tell me. Why haven't you gone to the police to report the murder you witnessed?"

"Because, why bother? I'm a dead man anyways."

"That is true. You are a dead man. You will regret stumbling apon us."

"Man, I regretted it for 6 months."

"That is true. So, now we are going to hurt you for each day we couldn't find you! And if you do try to escape, you will get it worse than you have ever experienced in your life!"
