Savannah hands me a roll of gauze as I cringe at the pain in my mouth. Her eyes find mine and we laugh.

I groan, "I think I regret doing this."

Savannah nods, "At least it's only one. Plus, it's in the back."

"Whatever," I mumble.

She points to my chest, "This was your idea, wise one."

I throw my hands back in defense, "A good idea. It only makes things more believable. They'll find his remains, but not ours. Not completely anyway. They only really do autopsies if it isn't obvious in the way they died. That or it's a murder case and they're looking for specifics. They won't be checking his body out, trust me. They just need to know we died too."

Savannah spits out the remaining blood in her mouth, "Do you think all this will be enough, though?"

I count on my fingers, "Our teeth, jewelry, and shoes. They won't bother with needing our whole bodies if they have plain evidence that we died along with Dominick. If they so happen to find out that he was killed before they find him, which I highly doubt, they'll only assume the same happened to us."

She takes my half soaked gauze from my hands, "Yeah, it was a pretty smart idea."

I bow, "That's me."

"Alright, I'll take the knife, pliers, scissors, and all this medical shit to the car. You place all our 'remains' around where they'll be easy to find and I'll be back to do last minute touch-ups."

I nod, "Mhm. Be careful. I tripped out there running back to the house."

She's already out the door before she can respond.

I don't waste my time before gathering our belongings. We've already untied and lied Dominick's body on the floor.

I throw our teeth close to his body.

The shoes, I decide, can be placed throughout the house. I throw them sporadically around the rooms along with our jewelry.

I feel Savannah's presence behind me, "I'm finishing up."

"Wren.."

Savannah's voice makes my heart skip a beat. I turn around to face her.

"Wren.."

"Yes?" I barely manage to speak with her tone so grave.

"I..I'm scared," She stammers.

"Babe.. don't," I start.

She brings her eyes to mine and before I can begin another sentence of reassurance her arms are around me.

"I'm so scared," Her breath is hot against my neck.

I hold the back of her head and hug her closer, "I'm right here."

It's all I can manage to say.

We need to get moving.

I bring my free hand to her own and tighten my grip. She's shaking.

"Hey, everything is going to be fine. We did it. We're okay. Now we just need to get out of here," I speak softly into her ear.

She makes a last effort to cling onto me before reluctantly letting go, "Okay. I'm okay."

I tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear and force her to lock eyes with mine, "I'm right here."

She faintly smiles, "Let's.. uhm.. check everything."
