A few hours pass and I've barely done anything. I've found a book I can settle myself with to pass the time, but there's too much on my mind to read.

The kind woman that's still working her shift has gone outside in the rain to smoke a cigarette.

What am I doing here?

A ring bursts from the telephone that hangs on the wall and I jump. I stare at it until it rings a second time. Once it does I set my book down and make my way over to the wall it hangs on.

Before it can ring a third time I pick it up and hold it to my ear, "Hello, this is Walla Walla's public library. How can I help you?" I hear someone breathing on the other end, "Hello?" I say after a few seconds have passed.

"Yes, hello? I'm looking to know your.. um... hours." The voice is clearly being faked.

"Our hours are from eight am to nine pm on weekdays. Was that all?" I ask, annoyed. Why would anyone prank call a library?

"No... that's not all. Is this Wren?" I freeze and look over my shoulder. The woman has made her way back inside and is taking off her jacket.

"Yes, do I know you?"

"You could say that." I feel the stranger smirk through their words.

"You going to tell me who I'm talking to or..?" I reply sarcastically.

"That would ruin the fun." The fake voice disappears.

I laugh, "What is your problem? I'm not an idiot. I know who this is and you just proved how much of a stalker you are. How did you find out where I work? You know what, it doesn't matter. Leave me alone. Leave Savannah alone. I don't fancy my time being wasted. Goodnight." With that, I hang up the phone on the wall and turn on my heel.

The woman eyes me strangely, "Weirdo from school." I state, shrugging my shoulders.

Although I get the feeling he's going to become more than just a weirdo from school to me real quick.

"Ah, I see. Girl crazy, is he?" I'm confused by her words but nod anyway. She shakes her head and laughs, "I remember the good old days."

After my shift ends and I'm back home I change out of my clothes and into my pajamas.

I remember I'm supposed to call Adria, so I grab my phone from the island and settle myself on my bed.

I open the contacts app and it doesn't take long to find Adria's name. I click her contact and press the call button. I hold the phone up to my ear and wait for her to answer.

After four rings she picks up, "Hey, pumpkin head. How was work?"

"It's been years since I put that stupid pumpkin on my head, Adria."

She snorts, "And I remember it like it was yesterday. We had so much fun that night."

A smile creeps onto my lips, "I guess we did."

"The night before Halloween. We were carving the pumpkins mom bought us. After you took all the guts out you cut a hole on the bottom and stuck your head inside. You danced around the table and I couldn't stop laughing," She laughs through her words, "Anyways, how was your shift?"

I cross my legs and pull the comforter so that it's covering my lower half, "Boring. I got a call from this weirdo from school. Have I told you about him yet?"

"I don't believe you have. Spill."

"Wow. That's the most human interaction you've had since elementary school." Is all my sister has to say after I'm done explaining who Dominick and Savannah are along with the situation.
