Chapter Fourteen

Billy's POV

1:34 am

I hear someone scream, as my eyes flutter open, wide open. "GET OFF OF ME PLEASE! NO!" I hear, repeatedly.

I force myself out of bed, running out the door nearly tripping, to the guest room.

I burst through the door, to see Kelli kicking and punching the mattress, while screaming for her life.

Running up to her, I yell her name, three times. The fourth, I pull her towards me with my hands. Her eyes immediately looking into mine.

Kelli takes in deep, deep breaths, looking around her, as she takes normal breaths once she realizes it was just a dream.

"What happened? Damn you Kelli, I thought you were having a seizure!" I say, as my heart beat slowly goes back to normal.

"I just remembered the rape." She says, with her eyes tearing up.

We are suddenly in an embrace, as she pours her feelings out, in the safeness of my arms.

"Billy?" She says, hold onto my back.

"Yeah?" I answer, stroking her hair.

"Will you stay with me? Please?" She asks, waiting for an answer.

I don't respond, I start to lay down next to her, and tuck myself under the covers, as her head rests on me.

I kiss her forehead, listening to her frightened breaths and gasps of air.

"Hey, don't be afraid, you'll be okay. I'm here." I whisper to her ear.

She holds on to me, as if she never wants to let me go. I let myself feel her pain.

"I will always be here." I add.
