Chapter twelve: Okay

Previously on 'I am the Fire Angels other Half':

"I found it at a small car shop." She smiled at me. "Its your dream car."

I shook my head.

"I cant take this, mom." I said putting the lid back on the box and trying to hand it back.

"No, its for you." She said pushing the box back to me.

"Mom, I-"

"Its a gift." She cut me off.

I slightly smiled and hugged her.

"I have to go mom." I said pulling away.

"Okay, let me help you load your car with the food." She said walking to the kitchen.

I drove on the dark high way heading toward my crapy home.

After my mom helped me pack a bunch of food into the back, I picked up Lucas and then we left in my new Super Beetle.

I loved it.

Although it did smell like old grandma and cigarettes.

I'll have to buy some air fresheners.

Lucas was quiet.

I dont know why.

Maybe it was what we talked about this morning.

"Alexis, can I talk to you for a minute?" Lucas asked me.

"Yeah, sure." I said standing up and leaving Ross on the couch.

We both walked out the frount door.

"I wanted to talk to you about something that has been on my mind for a while now." Lucas said to me.

"Alright." I replyed.

He let out a shaky breath, then looked at me.

"How?" He asked.

"What?"

"How do you like him?"

I looked over to Ross who was still on the couch.

"I dont like him." I said, trying to believe it myself.

Lucas shook his head.

"You like him, alright." He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"I dont like him." I rubbed my arm.

"Prove it."

"How?"

"Go out with me."

What?

How could I do that?

Alright, I still had feelings for Ross, but nothing could happen, not again.

"Why?" I asked.

He looked at me.

"Because, Ross isnt the only one who wants you."

I almost blushed.

"Why is this happening?" I whispered to my self.

"Because your the most beautiful girl I ever saw." He said walking toward me.

"Lucas, I dont think that-"

"Please." He begged.

I looked down at the ground and thought about it.

What would Ross think?

No, I need to forget about him.

I cant hurt him again.

It was my fault in the first place, and it cant happen again.

I would die without him.

I looked up at Lucas.

"I dont know what to do." I said.

Lucas walked toward me.

"You do know, you just dont want to do it." he said.

"I cant do this. I cant be hurt again." I looked over to Ross who was still on the couch.

"You can do this. And I wont hurt you." Lucas grabbed my chin. "I wont let anything hurt you."

I shook my head.

My heart seemed to be breaking more.

I dont know what I'd do with out Ross.

I need to move on.

Take control of my own life.

Take action.

I cant have Ross, so I need to move on.

I moved my eyes back to Lucas.

His brown eyes looking into my hazel eyes.

"Okay." I whispered. "I'll go out with you."
