Hyunjin watched as Jisung pulls on a denim jacket, a permanent frown on his face. "Do I look okay?" He asks and Hyunjin only shrugs.
"Won't you get too warm wearing a flannel and a jacket?" He points out but Jisung only shoots him a glare.
"If I get too warm I'll take it off and strangle Minho with it" he mutters but Hyunjun laughs, standing up and pushing Jisung away from the mirror so he could use it.
"Don't blame him, it's not his fault" this didn't make Jisung any less pissed off. "If it makes you feel better, I won't be drinking either".
"You're only doing that so you can make sure Jeongin and Seungmin don't drink anything but juice boxes all night" he huffs but Hyunjin doesn't deny the statement since it was very true. Hyunjin didn't want the younger boys getting ahold of alcohol.
"They're still babies!" He says with a glare but Jisung only rolls his eyes. Seungmin was the same age and Jeongin was only a year younger. They weren't babies but obviously Hyunjin couldn't seem to understand that.
Jisung grabs the keys to his apartment and stands at the front door "if you don't hurry up then I'm leaving without you!" He yells and quickly Hyunjin comes out of the bedroom and was first out the door.
••••
It was barely even a minute past nine yet the house was already packed. Thankfully most people hadn't had the chance to get completely drunk yet and the majority were just a little tipsy and giggly.Hyunjin carefully moves past a girl who was trying to see how long she could drink beer and stand on her head at the same time, a group of others cheering her on. Jisung follows behind, trying not to show his concern for the fact that the girls face was already turning purple.
Almost as soon as they entered the house they see Chan waving at them from the kitchen. "Guys you came!" He beams which only causes Jisung to roll his eyes.
"Yeah we said we were coming, remember?" It was more than obvious Chan had started drinking before people had even started showing up.
"Oh yeah" the blonde giggles, leaning on the kitchen counter for support "Minho is here-" he turns, obviously expecting Minho to be there. Chan's brow furrows a little and he glances back over at Jisung "-somewhere"
Jisung and Hyunjin glance at one another for a moment, not quite use to seeing the elder in such a state. "I'll go find him" Jisung mutters, turning and pushing his way past a few more people coming into the kitchen for drinks.
The living room only had a few people sat around, most playing video games on the tv, cheering when someone won or lost. No sign of Minho though.
Jisung knew that most people were in the garden since that's where the loud music was coming from. He steps through the double doors into the backyard, looking at the crowd of people dancing and laughing.
The fact that it was so busy and it was already dark out would make it nearly impossible to find anyone. Everything was just a flash of multicoloured lights, and the loud music coming through the speakers was already giving Jisung a headache.
He couldn't imagine Minho being in the middle of all of this. He didn't seem like the type to dance around and scream lyrics to pop songs at the top of his lungs...at least not sober.
Since Minho had clearly stated that he had no interest in coming to the party in the first place, Jisung thought it was safe to assume he wasn't in the garden.
Jisung makes his way back into the house, running up the stairs and thanking the universe that it was quieter up here, only the muffled sound of music coming from outside and the odd cheer coming from downstairs.
He walks over to Chan's bedroom, resting his hand on the doorknob. The thought of walking in on something did cross his mind, but it was still early in the night so he was praying that wouldn't happen.
He braces himself and pushes the door open just a crack, peeking inside to see if it was safe for innocent eyes. Thankfully it was. The only person in the room being Minho, sprawled on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.
Jisung slips into the room and quietly closes the door before walking over to the bed. He leans over a little to see if Minho was asleep or not, but he was awake. His eyes move from the ceiling and over to Jisung who stood over him.
"Are you sober?" He asks and Jisung only nods "good" Minho mutters, moving over a little so there was room for Jisung to lay down beside him.
This whole scenario seemed hella odd but Jisung shrugs, climbing onto the bed and laying down beside the elder.
They lay in silence, listening to the crowd outside screaming the lyrics to 'Married To the Music' and Jisung was trying his best not to laugh at how off key it was."You know the party is downstairs right?" He asks after a while, turning his head to look over at Minho.
" I don't like parties" he answers, not moving his eyes from the ceiling, his eyes fixed on the glow-in-the-dark stars that Chan refused to take down.
Jisung laughs a little at this "That's a lie" he says "I remember when you first became friends with us you loved parties. I remember you promised me you'd show up and that we'd have a good time dancing and trashing the house together". He laughs fondly at the memory but the other boy doesn't.
Minho sighs and finally rolls onto his side, now facing Jisung. Jisung felt he was a little too close for comfort but he knew that if he moved back he would end up falling of the bed. "I had a bad experience at a party so I don't like them much these days"
Jisung pulls a face "really? And what was this 'bad experience'?" He asks, still trying to cover up how uncomfortable he felt with Minho's face being so close to his own.
The elder searches Jisung's face for a moment before shaking his head "like hell I'm telling you" he says, reaching out and pushing Jisung off the bed, causing the younger to hit the floor.
"You asshole! What the fuck did you do that for?" He asks, staggering to his feet and rubbing his lower back where he had landed.
Minho only shrugs "you were too close"
"You couldn't have just asked me to move?!" Jisung yells, shoving Minho over so he could sit back on the bed.
"That would have been boring" the elder laughs, holding his stomach for support.
Eventually Minho's laugher dies down and once again the two sat in silence.
"This is boring" Jisung mutters as he pulls his phone out of his pocket to check the time. They had been laid there for over an hour. "I have a question"
Minho hums "What is it?"
"How bad do you think our punishment would be?" He asks and instantly Minho sits up.
"What?"
The younger sighs "I'm bored! There's a party downstairs and I can't join in because of you" he says, jabbing is finger at Minho's chest "I wanna have a good time too"
"But we won't get the money"
At this Jisung felt like throwing himself out of the window."Who cares! We wouldn't have gotten it anyway since we're bound to argue at some point" he throws his hands up in the air "let's just get strike three and endure the punishment".
"But-"
"Come on Minho! This is Chan we're talking about. What's the worst he can make us do?" He asks and Minho actually looked like he was considering it.
"If you go downstairs and drink then does that mean I get to go home?" He asks and Jisung nods "fine, but I'm doing this because I miss my cats, not for you" he points out and instantly a smile breaks out on Jisung's lips.
"Of course you are."
