~Flirting With The Good Girl~
Chapter29: Uncle Jacob
*Jake Parkers*
"Happy birthday!"
Everyone from family, to friends, to my football team stand in a large living room with a giant cake lying on a table in the front.
On the cake is a giant 18 and candles surrounding it.
I've been so caught up in everything that I've forgotten my birthday is in two days ...
Ethan smiles brightly and is the first to approach me. "Happy early eighteenth birthday, dude." He pats me on the back. "Seriously though, I need to find a bathroom."
Next to come congratulate me is Jackson and Jessica.
Jackson pulls me into a big brotherly hug and punches me lightly on the arm. "You dork, why were you following us."
My eyes move to Jessica and my heart lurches. "I ... I don't know? I'm stupid I guess."
He laughs and pulls Jessica into a group hug. "Dude, don't think me and her were hooking up because we weren't."
Jessica blushes but nods. "We weren't, Jake. We've been planning your birthday for three weeks now. That's all."
Sure, I'm sure that's all.
Jackson releases me and holds out a hand. "I need to talk to you after the party." I shake his hand before he tells me to have fun and enjoy myself, and walks away.
Jessica catches my attention when she says, "So ... you know, huh?"
"About what? The party? I had no idea." I answer. "I was completely surprised."
"Well it wouldn't be a surprise party if we had it on your birthday. We figured you would put the pieces together." She rocks back on her heels. "But that's not what I ment."
I frown. "You mean the other thing -about the baby."
She nods.
"If you knew, why didn't you tell us?" I ask in a hushed voice.
"Because this is a huge responsibility. I'm not sure if Jackson is ready for it." She explains. "I'm afraid he's going to back out."
"He's my brother, Jess. You could have at least told me instead of taking all the responsibility." I say. "We could've helped."
She nods knowingly. "Yeah, I know. I'm sorry."
I wave off the apology. "No need to apologize. Just don't keep such a serect like this from me, okay?"
She doesn't have time to answer because I'm suddenly ripped from her side and pulled into a circle where everyone is dancing and singing.
Ethan dances crazily with the music beside me and coaxes me into dancing as well.
When gas pedal suddenly begins to play Carter, Ethan, Garret, and I all begin to dance wildly, oddly not embarrassed anymore of being watched.
Even when I spot Jessica watching us with an amused look and trying to hold back her to laughter, I find no embarrassment.
The night has gone almost perfect, until an uninvited guest shows up.

"Dude!" Ethan jumps and down excitedly. "I know you think it's girly to get each other gifts and stuff but I got you something!"
