~Flirting With The Good Girl~
Chapter26: -J
*Jake Parkers*
"So, what you're telling me is you have a diary?"
Ever since Jessica found that book, I've been on edge.
I don't know how much she read or what she read, all I know is I can never let her get a hold of it again.
I don't want her to be scared and I sure as hell don't want her getting involved with any of it.
What she read was the least of what Jase has done. He's basically dedidicated his life to sabatoge mine.
I just want her to understand she can never see that book ever again. If she would have flipped a few pages further, she would probably be having some sort of a panic attack. I know if I was anybody else and I read that, I could never look at anyone the same way.
I now know she'll be having questions about it and it'll kill me to not be able to answer her. She'll have to stay in the shadows for awhile until I have Jase behind bars where he should be.
"It's not a diary," I said, annoyed at the fact that he thought for a second that I, Jacob Parkers, had a diary. "It's just a record of events that I had to write down."
"So ... like a diary?"
"No, Ethan. Like a record book."
"And she read it? What did she read? Does she know about ... him?" Garret asked with a worried tone.
I understand that Jessica and Garret are close now, what with their parents dating. Garret basically thinks of her as his sister now and I guess they sort of are.
Amber and Jerry have been discussing the thought of moving in together. That's a big step forward and the next step would be marriage.
Garret has owned up to the 'protective big brother' title. Jessica's safety has become just important to him as well.
"I'm not sure what all she had read. All I know is she read the July fifth one." I replied.
Ethan crinkled his nose up and grimaced. "Damn, I remember that night. I had nightmares for two weeks after that night."
"Tell me about it. I was for sure Jase was going to be busted for that but when I found out he wasnt, I went home and locked all the doors." Garret shivered and scooted closer to Ethan.
"You guys were the lucky ones." I huffed. "I had to live with him a whole year longer."
"Have you told Jackson about Jesse reading your diary?" Ethan asked while flipping through the book.
"Firstly, it's not a diary but a record book. And secondly, no, I haven't told him. He's been gone all day." I frowned. "Guys, where has he been lately?"
Ethan shrugged and glanced up at me. "I saw him at the mall the other day with Jessica."
"And I saw him in the park yesterday with Jessica." Garret answered.
"Why with Jessica?"
Garret's eyes widen at a possibility. "You don't think she's cheating on Carter with Jackson?
Ethan gasped. "Holy sheets! That would be a total plot twist!"
"I know right." Garret laughed while nodding. "They could make a good couple. I mean, there's a small age difference but it's all good."
