“W-What do you mean?” Hoseok asked, stuttering a bit before regaining his composure.
“I mean...why do you stay with him? After all these years?”
“Because I love him.”
“But does he love you?”
“Of course he does. Why wouldn’t he?”
“Hoseok...he hits you. He abuses you.”
Hoseok froze, shock evident on his face. The color drained from his features and he looked down at his hands, growing quiet.
“He just gets angry sometimes. I mess up a lot…” Hoseok whispered.
“He should never hit you. That’s wrong, Hoseok.”
“He’s the only one who loves me. He cares for me and provides everything for me. I’m just ungrateful and sometimes he has to remind me that I shouldn’t be.” Yoongi flinched at those words.
“Seok…”
Hoseok shook his head. “He loves me.” He assured.
But it sounded like he was trying to assure himself more than anything. “H-he kisses me and g-gives me hugs...a-and he always apologizes if he steps over the l-line! He doesn’t m-mean to!”
“Seok...he’s abusing you. He doesn’t love you. That’s not love.”
Hoseok shook his head. “Have you ever been in love...Kiki?”
Yoongi shook his head. “No.” He said quietly.
“Then you can’t understand.” Hoseok stood up from his seat. “I-I should go.”
“Seok...wait.” Yoongi stood as well, grabbing Hoseok’s wrist. The man flinched from the touch, a broken sob suddenly escaping his mouth. He collapsed into Yoongi as the god held him, shushing him and rubbing his back.
“It’s okay...you’re okay, Seok…”
“I-I can’t leave!” Hoseok whimpered. “H-he’s the only one who cares!”
“I care.” Yoongi whispered. “Jimin cares. Jungkook cares. Seokjin cares. Namjoon cares. Taehyung cares. We all care. We’re here for you, Seok…”
“You barely know me.”
“That doesn’t mean we’ll leave you out in the cold. You can rely on us. Rely on me.” Hoseok cried, shaking his head. He didn’t say anything else, just clung to Yoongi.
The god sighed, but didn’t press the issue anymore, knowing that Hoseok would just get defensive again. He continued to hold Hoseok, sitting down on the couch and pulling him onto his lap, running a hand comfortingly through his hair.
He’d just have to wear the human down.
Show him what real love was.

“He’s sending motherfucking messengers now.” Yoongi groaned, collapsing onto the couch.
Yoongi groaned again, closing his eyes and recalling the incident. Some guy had approached him, looking strangely familiar and out of place amongst the humans walking around on their way to one class or other on campus.
He’d knocked into Yoongi’s shoulder and when the god had turned to cuss him out, he’d been handed a black envelope with a silver seal on it. Yoongi had opened the letter and immediately turned it to ash in his hands, not caring if anybody saw him do it.
“He won’t fucking leave me alone!” Yoongi exclaimed, rubbing his temples in annoyance.
Jimin rolled his eyes.
“Why don’t you just go and visit him, then?”
“Because he’ll keep me there for decades talking about how pretty this nymph or that dryad is. I’m not fucking interested!”
“Because you’ve got the hots for a human.”
“That’s not the point! I’m not looking for someone to marry anytime soon, and it’s getting annoying, both of my parents keep pressing it. I’m immortal for fuck’s sake! I don’t need to marry this early in my existence!”
“He didn’t deny it this time.” Jin whispered to Jimin. Yoongi scoffed and rolled his eyes, standing from the couch.
“If none of you fucktards are going to help me, I’m out of here.”
“Where are you going?”
“Out.”
-
Yoongi found himself just randomly walking down a street, no real destination in sight. If he got too lazy, he could just transport himself back to the house, so he didn’t need to worry about getting lot or anything.
He sighed and looked up at some of the trees, artfully planted around the city to make it look more green.
He was so invested in the greenery, that he didn’t see Hoseok walking towards him, head down and earbuds in.
When their shoulders bumped, Yoongi’s attention snapped to him, and his eyes widened. “Hoseok.” He greeted. The human smiled brightly, greeting the elder back.
“Hyung! What are you doing all the way on this side of town?”
“Just taking a walk. Some of the guys were pissing me off.”
“Oh? Care to talk?” Yoongi hesitated.
Then he shrugged. “Sure? Why not.”
