Everyone was peacefully eating their breakfast until an announcement broke the peace and that peace would be broken for two whole years."Attention!All pilots.(y/c/e) has targeted (y/c/p)(your country's place).Thankfully,our country's brave pilots are on stand-by.They are ready to fight against them.Therefore, this is the day when we show our true love for our country, if you remain brave,the people of (y/c) remain safe and sound but if you even tremble a little and try to step backwards,even one of you then perhaps you will not hear the end of it,(y/c/e) can attack any moment, at any place,Every airforce camp,every army camp, every nave camp is ready to face, perhaps this can turn out to be a full war but if we fight with all our might then we can protect our citizens.Thank you and get yourself ready,physically and mentally........................because everyone is counting on you."This announcement rung in your ears like a bee buzzing in your ear.Newt was calling you but you didn't hear him. He shook you."(y/n)...........its going to alright."You just nodded and headed to your room to get ready.
In five minutes you were out in the big area where your aircraft was kept. The door of the large room opened. You looked at the magnificent aircraft and smiled. You grabbed your helmet and climbed the ladder to your aircraft. The capsule was opened. You sat on the seat and took a deep breath.You closed the capsule and wore your helmet and positioned your aircraft on the runway.You accelerated it and prepared for take-off."if you tremble then-"You heard Newt say from the earpiece and completed the sentence."then you will not hear the end of it." You said and smiled and looked over at Newt, he gave you a thumbs-up and you returned it and accelerated your aircraft and focused on your mission. Newt went on his own way."Stay safe."Newt said to you. You smiled and said."you too."You started to patrol the area. You accelerated your aircraft more.You went still. You didn't see a pilot inside it. Your eyes turned wide."Officer!Do you copy?""Yes I copy.""Officer the aircrafts are maybe auto piloted.""Calm down."You took deep breaths."They are sending more aircrafts. Pilot(y/n) I need you to focus."You looked at your watch. Two hours had passed.You looked around and you saw snow. You had forgotten it was snowing because of all the locomotion.You smiled and turned around to patrol other areas. You looked down and saw buildings, they looked like insects.You smiled and accelerated. You looked at your radar. "Pilot(y/n) and Pilot Newt I want you to come back, ASAP.""Yes officer." You said and heard Newt saying the same thing. You turned around towards the base. The truth was that you were so fond of the skies that you didn't want to leave.
You landed and saw Newt landing on the other runway. You got out of your aircraft and ran towards Newt after taking your helmet. "Anything weird?"You asked but he responded with a shake of a head indicating'no'.It was night time, you guys had to wake up the whole night just for anything that's why you guys had rested at day.You all were sitting in the tower.It was snowing hard and also raining hard with thunder and lightning. Two of (y/c) pilots were out patrolling when the officer's voice caught off guard."Pilot Adam!Aircraft at 3 o'clock."You head shot upwards. Newt was right beside you. For Adam things heated up, the opponent was an auto pilot aircraft and because of the snow and rain it was difficult for Adam to control his aircraft."oh no.."you said and your hands went up to your face. You were shaking because you were worried for Adam although you didn't really know him. You hoped that he would be fine and he would also shoot down the aircraft. Newt held your hand and gave you a side hug which surprised you a bit. You knew that Newt was also worried.Adam was having a hard time.It was a matter of life and death. Your head whipped around to the officer when you heard a "whew." You smiled and mumbled a quick 'yes'.Newt just chuckled. You waited for Adam.Suddenly Adam appeared and you and Newt congratulated him."You did a good job out there."You said and patted Adam's back. He just smiled."thank you."He said.
It was 2 am. You and Newt were walking in the corridors to stop you from getting sleepy. It was cold."Hey......(y/n) do you need coffee or something from the vending machine.""Yeah....just a coffee, thanks."He smiled and you both went there. Newt put the money in there but the two cups of coffees wouldn't come out. You laughed as Newt banged at the machine."I hate vending machines."He grumbled.You still laughed."let me try."You kicked the machine and two coffees came out.You stuck your tongue out to Newt while Newt squinted his eyes and smirked."That was just luck."He said."Okay....whatever you say."You said as you kneeled down to get the cups.You handed one to newt."Let's sit on that bench.He pointed towards a bench in front of a large window. You sat down there."I love aircrafts.""Yeah.......""Sometimes I wonder that what would all the people be doing? Wouldn't the kids be scared, wouldn't the adults be sitting in front of the TV and watching the terrible news.""What terrible news?That it was Adam who shot down the aircraft today and not you?""What?"You squinted your eyes and playfully punched his shoulder.He looked at you. Your eyes met but you looked away. "Did you.............did you get scared when you heard aircrafts when you were a child?" He looked at you and asked with a questioning look on his face."Me?"He nodded."No.........every kid in the orphanage would hide under the beds.however, I liked the sound of the aircrafts, I used to look up and pray for the aircrafts to come.""I was not like that...............I liked the airforce because my parents were martyred..............I want to die like that.........fighting for my country........that's the best death I can imagine." You gulped."You want to die?"You asked."No."He chuckled."Its just that............I want to have a long life and a healthy one but when I die I want to be martyred."Look........you are freaking me out..........." You had tears in your eyes. You tried not to look at him.He looked at you and laughed."What? You are wishing to die and if you die then I would become so sad, I wouldn't know how to live-" You shut your mouth as you realized what you were saying.He was looking at you with a smile."You know.........I am going to go to the tower." You pointed towards the god knows where.You were so nervous. What would Newt think of you?"Its okay......I can't also imagine a life without you." You stopped in your tracks and smiled.He smiled and got up, threw the empty cup in the dustbin and slung his arm around your neck ina friendly way and you did the same. You burst out laughing out of the blue.He just shook his head and smiled widely as you headed towards the tower.
