DICIASSETTE

Marco staggers into the vacant bathroom, shutting the door roughly and he covers his ears to block out the mouthy noises of his tender family.

he leans against the wall, eyes hooded as he slides onto the floor, carpet curling under him. Marco is messed up and him knowing the fact makes it worse. his thoughts and crush on Kyong have taken over and the lack of control in his life and mind reminds him of drunkenness. he had to stash away his emotions and disputed mind from his family, needing to be alone so he could finally cry.

he buries his face with his hands, shutting his eyes so tight that he hopes it's enough for the thoughts to leave but they don't and his heart aches.

Marco thinks about the desire to be with Kyong. he wants to be the person he comes to when he's afflicted, vulnerable or fatigued so Marco can hold him, remind him of his strength. he wants to play with his hair as he lies his head on his lap, their fingers interlocking naturally. he wants to watch him animate, compliment and show off his talent. he wants to fall in love with every aspect of him. he wants to feel his lips again. he wants to support him in his hobbies, work and personality so they can grow together.

Marco tries to control his cries in the family toilet, all whilst Kyong kisses his girlfriend next door.

Juwon returns from his day in vintage Italy, swinging his slender arms on either side as the shine of the overdue moon ponders on his striking features- glossy cheeks, sharp jawline, flawless eyebrows and growing sideburns of new black hair that he personally likes better than the heedless, edgy blonde.

Marco grins at the sight of him- needing the sense of comic relief after a lengthy day of thinking and feeling too hard. they see each other everyday yet miss each other- growing as worthy friends.

Marco continues to fold the laundry on his lap, placing folded family clothes into the basket on the floor of the noiseless porch. his mother left him with housework before she went to sleep with heavy but energetic Vega in her arms, ready to have sweet dreams before the next day of play and school.

"hey .. you alright?" Marco calls out, focusing his eyes on a placid Juwon who forces himself to walk to his house, dragging his feet with his bag. it's then that his eye bags, swollen cheeks and slumped posture become clear and Marco feels the immediate care and anxiety flood into his own tired eyes.

Juwon nods. "yeah you?"

Marco finishes the folding of warm clothes and places them into the basket with carefulness. "i'm good. it seems like you had a rough day." he states and places his bony hands on his hips, walking towards Juwon's tidy porch.

Marco likes how Juwon opens up immediately- showing the trust in their friendship. "yeah don't get me started. i went job hunting which didn't go well and then went to Nolan's and we ended up having an argument!"

Marco shifts uncomfortably- he wishes he was better at comforting people when they are most vulnerable or distressed. he knows the feeling of rejections and hopeless jobs at such an age. the need to pay your parents back for everything they've ever done for you .. builds guilt and annoyance in your mind. "you want to talk about it?" and he lets Juwon decide if he wants to talk about jobs or Nolan, even though it's clear he wants to talk about Marco's cousin who is influential.
