the middle of summer with a hopeful love and giddy smilesVENTITRÉ
Kyong couldn't believe Marco was being serious about sightseeing around his new home- Italy.
it's the day Kyong and Marco leave for stirring, organised trips around Italy. Marco has planned several days consisting of activities, landmarks and cafes for them to visit. he's glad he had something to do in summer.
Marco's father calls out to his son from the kitchen. "how long will you be gone for?" he questions Marco who's zipping his luggage in the hallway.
"a week." of me and Kyong and me and Kyong and me and-
"why can't we come?" Teodora asks, walking down the stairs.
"you have school."
Teodora huffs, crossing her arms- always wanting an excuse to not go to school, to join other people. "this isn't fair." she protests.
Harlow turns the corner, carrying a pile of books in her arms. "will you take pictures?" the bookworm asks with care, not wanting to annoy Marco. she's sad he's leaving for a week- she's going to miss him, but she knows not to act like her older sister- Teodora. so asking for pictures is something she's certain her brother will do, he loves showing his day outs and fond memories to his family.
Marco lifts up his precious camera. "do you even know me?"
Marco continues smiling, giving Vega a forceful, loving hug because she never gives him what he wants. "i'm going to go get Kyong now and then we're going to get the bus bye."
he moves towards the door, pulling along his carrier as he waves his hand- trying not to think about how homesick he'll be. "okay take care and call me when you can." his mother shouts, pointing her finger at him with a bye.
"i will do." Marco leaves, closing the door behind him as he makes his way to his neighbours home. he leans his suitcase against the gate before standing in front of the door and knocking.
Marco is thankful the words- you ready? didn't leave his lips because the door swings open, revealing Miss. "oh hey Miss!" he exclaims, standing up straight and greeting her.
"come in, come in." she grins, welcoming Marco as she always does. "he's still upstairs." she refers to Kyong, closing the door quietly.
"no worries." Marco replies, loving how much Kyong's mother smiles- she seems to feel relaxed, happy here in Italy and that's all he wants to see. he hopes Kyong and Juwon feel the same way- his home town is beloved.
she ushers him into the small, nice smelling kitchen, placing a heavy bag in his arms as his brown eyes widen in surprise. "here! take some of these snacks i prepared for you both." she ties the bag with a secure knot before patting his shoulder enthusiastically. Marco thinks about how good of a person, friend, neighbour and mother she is and he thanks her several times with a polite smile.
Juwon wanders into the kitchen, apron covering his body which nearly makes Marco burst into giggles. he munches on a breadstick and eyes his friend before leaning in to whisper in his ear. "things are working in your favour." he whispers, referring to Kyong.
