The Broken Girl

Reea's pov

After 20 minutes I finally reached my apartment so I got out of the taxi and paid the taxi driver after that I made my way towards my apartment. After I got in I wiped my face clear of all makeup and changed into one of my shorts and t-shirt after that I came out of my room and went to make myself a chicken pasta since I didn't have anything at the party so I started making it another ten minutes into the pasta I heard the doorbell ringing so I put the pasta on medium heat and went to answer the door.when I opened the door I found my best friend standing there looking worried so I moved aside to let her in . After she entered I asked her why  was she not at the party. She gave me a look that said" are u serious right now" so I remained silent. Another minute passed between us before she asked "was I alright" so I told her I was but she gave me a look that said I don't believe you before saying" if u say so".I asked her if she was hungry she nodded her head .she said she will be right back and went inside her bedroom and I made my way towards the kitchen to check on the pasta.when I finished cooking I started placing them in the plate at that time Leah entered the kitchen and asked if I needed any help I said no. I placed the pan and utensils I used into the sink and I took my plate as I headed towards the dining area I placed it on the dining table and sat down. Leah came after I sat down with her plate in hand and sat down next to me. She squeezed my hand before asking again" was I alright" I decided to tell her yes but instead said no because she knows when I am lying she nodded her head in understanding before saying it was time for me to move on from what happened a year. But I knew better that it will be hard for me to move on since whatever happened shattered me into a million little pieces she didn't need to know that so I said I will before continuing to eat even though I didn't feel like eating after that conversation. When I finished eating I said goodnight to Leah before heading back to my bedroom and I switched on the night lamp getting into bed after I got into bed I switched off the night lamp and drifted off to sleep. I woke up screaming because I forgot to take a the pills before going to bed after a moment there was a knock before Leah barged into the room asking did I need something so I asked her to bring the sleeping pills and a glass of water since I was trembling due to the after effects of the nightmare. She went outside before coming inside a minute later with my pills and water. After i finished taking the pills she asked whether I wanted her to stay with me to which I replied no and said I was fine. She hesitated before leaving me alone in my room. I got out of my bed and switched on the light before going into the bathroom to wash my face with trembling hands and legs after I finished washing my face. I went outside to make myself a coffee since I knew I will not be going back to sleep anytime soon since I had a vivid nightmare of that day which I hadn't had since few weeks ago. I started on my papers which were due on Monday and halfway through the paper I started feeling sleepy so I went back towards my bedroom before drifting off to sleep.
