The Broken Girl

Archer's pov

When I came back to Reea's apartment  I found a guy going through Reea's things  my first instinct was to call the cops but then I decided against it and asked what was he doing here and how did he get in so the guy turned around before saying something that made think if I misheard him so I asked him repeat what he was saying when he said his name as Aaron . I didn't know whether to believe him or not since he was supposed to be dead so I decided to ask him the obvious question whether he was her ex-  boyfriend for which he just quirked one his eyebrow before saying yes but before I could ask him how was he not dead he started explaining himself about how he stayed away from her to protect her and everything else about how he was watching her at first when she came to make sure she was safe. Then I asked him but what was he doing here he said he wanted to find any clue about who kidnapped Reea. He said he wanted to help to  rescue Reea I couldn't digest all the information I was scared if Reea would leave me once she finds out that the person whom she loved deeply is alive. But I scolded myself saying that was not important what was important was saving Reea somehow from the person who has kidnapped her. So I agreed to him helping he called someone before going outside to talk. While I waited for him to return after he came back he said he knew who has taken Reea but we still needed to know the exact location. So we waited for another half an hour before whoever he was talking to told him the place where Reea could be so we wasted no time in reaching the place. It looked like a rundown building we got in through the back door and decided to go separate ways to find Reea. I went through a corridor before my feet squeaked on the wooden floor so when I cracked opened the wooden floor I  found an underground tunnel so I went through it and at the end there was a door. I opened the door slowly not to alarm if the person who kidnapped Reea was inside there was only a faint light illuminating the room my eyes settled on a figure tied to chair when I went near I recognised it as Reea so I untied her hands and legs before helping her onto her feet. After she was released she hugged me tightly then we left the room and started walking through the underground tunnel and after that we walked up the stairs before rounding the corner where we came across Aaron standing and waiting for us. On seeing Aaron Reea stopped and blinked her eyes several times before going to hug him but before she could we heard footsteps coming so we immediately started walking towards the back entrance but before we could we heard a voice speaking which made all of us freeze. It was Leah standing a few feet away from us with a gun pointed at Reea so we raised our hands making no move then she came towards us before yanking Reea by her hair and asking Aaron " what did he ever see in her" but Aaron didn't answer so she pulled Reea's hair harder making her whimper from pain Aaron used that opportunity to grab his gun and shot her in her shoulder which was holding the gun so she dropped the gun Reea used this opportunity to elbow her in her stomach making her fall down clutching her stomach and ran towards us but not before kicking the gun to the side away from her. A few seconds later we heard the police siren indicating they were here. After they arrested Leah she asked us how did we find out that she was the one who Kidnapped Reea for which Aaron laughed before replying saying she was stupid enough to write the letter which she sent to Reea. Before she could say anything they dragged her away from us. Suddenly Reea fainted but before she could fall I caught her and medical team came with a stretcher to take Reea and I got into the ambulance with her. While Aaron said he will follow us and got into his car.
