A couple of weeks have passed and things are getting slightly better with Ashton. They're not talking about the accident anymore, and wanting to forget it all happened. Ashton is even getting a bit more his self again.
Today Calum decided it was a good idea to invite Ariel and Michael over. Ashton hasn't talked to Ariel since that day and he owed her an apology.
Calum sits on the couch while texting Michael. Unlike Ashton, Calum did have contact with Ariel and Michael. His lip ends curl up when he receives another text from him. ''Cal can you get me something to drink?'' Ashton asks. Calum walks towards the kitchen and comes back with two glasses.
"So when are they coming?'' he asks again. He doesn't want to admit but he is nervous as hell. He hasn't seen people in weeks so making contact will be difficult. Before Calum could answer, they hear three knocks on the door. Calum rushes towards the door, opens it and sees Michael smiling wide, followed by Ariel. Michael gives him a hug, leaving Calum to blush a bit. Ariel does the same, and they walk inside together.
"Hey Ash, how are you doing? Haven't seen you in a while mate." Michael says while seeing Ashton laying on the couch. "I'm doing fine I guess." he simply says. He sits right up giving the others more space to sit.
Calum and Michael are quickly in a conversation, leaving Ariel and Ashton sitting quite uncomfortable next to each other.
"I'm sorry." he finally says.
"Sorry for what?" her eyes scan Ashton. His black clothes and wild hair, the way he nervously plays with his fingers, his eyes who are staring in front of him.
"For being a mess."
"A mess?"
"Yes, a mess."
She didn't understand. Why is he a mess? What is going on with him?
"Can you explain more?" Ashton takes a sigh.
"I can't tell you, yet."
And on that moment Calum and Michael walk in again. They seem to become good friends, Ashton thought.

Calum is cooking, he insisted that Ariel and Michael would stay for dinner. The other three are sitting at the table, waiting for Calum to finish. Michael is staring at Calum, Ariel is staring at Ashton, and Ashton is staring at the wall, as always. It questions Ariel why he's never looking at anything, or anyone. She's leaving her thoughts as Calum walks in with a big plate. "Looks good." Michael smiles.
It's completely silence when they are eating. Some coughs are all you heard, while everyone is giving some glances to each other.
Ariel is looking at Calum. She wishes someone would ever look at her the way he looks at Michael. He doesn't see it, and keeps saying he's not gay. But everyone notices their chemistry.
When they're all done eating, Calum and Ariel bring the dishes to the kitchen. "You should ask her out sometime, she's so into you." Michael whispers towards Ashton who tenses up. "Y-you think so?" he stutters. "Yeah man, definitely."

When it's 10 p.m, Michael and Ariel leave. "So Ariel w-what are you going to d-do tomorrow?" he asks quiet, but just hard enough for her to hear. "I have to work tomorrow, but I don't want to." she winces. "Oh okay."
As she turns around, she sees Calum and Michael getting closer to each other, but stop when Michael sees Ariel looking. Awkwardly he rubs his neck and says his goodbye, leaving Calum standing there, quite disappointed.
"Bye Ariel."
"Bye Ashton."
