"If it wasn't for Howard, you and I probably never would've met."

Katherine caught back up with Steve. He went to the raft prison where Sam, Wanda, Scott, Clint and their kids were being held and they took out all of the guards before letting them free. Katherine immediately ran to her kids, wrapping them both in a tight hug, while some tears fell from her eyes.

"I'm sorry. . I'm so sorry." She said, and then she grabbed Amaya by her cheeks, and looked over her. "Are you okay? What did Rhodey do?" She asked, and Amaya shook her head.

"I'm fine, Mom. . he just counteracted my powers. Are you okay? Your face is bruised." Amaya said.

"And bleeding. What happened?" Christian asked. Katherine looked over at her husband, but the two didn't say anything to each other, before she looked at her kids.

"Don't worry about it, okay? I'm fine. Mom's okay." She said, bringing them back in close for a hug. She was just happy they were safe, and no longer in a prison cell. "I should've never brought you two into this." She said.

"Mom. . we chose this, remember?" Christian said.

"Yeah. . we knew what we were doing, we knew the risk." Amaya said. Katherine took a deep breath, reminding herself to stay calm, but she couldn't. Of all the fights she's been in and missions she's been on. That was the worst one. She knew about the letter that Steve wrote to Tony, but now all of them were going to have to go underground for who knows how long.

They're all fugitives now.

Steve, Katherine, their kids and Bucky all went down to Wakanda per T'Challa's invitation. He knew they could make Bucky another arm, and they might be able to undo everything that HYDRA did to him, and it was going to be a place where he could lay low for a while. The Rogers didn't know what they were going to do, but Katherine and Steve would figure it out.

"You sure about this?" Steve asked Bucky when the family walked inside of the room he was in. Bucky had been formally introduced to their kids as their father's oldest friend. Uncle Bucky.

"I can't trust my own mind. So, until they figure out how to get this stuff out of my head. . I think going back under is the best thing. For everybody." Bucky said. They put him in a chamber which seemed to freeze him over, and Katherine stepped out of the room before Steve followed her.

"Kath, we should probably. .-" She cut him off and turned around.

". .-Steve, I don't have anything to say. I told you multiple times to back down." She said.

"He went after Bucky." He said.

"Bucky killed his parents!" She snapped back.

"You know his mind was. .-" She cut him off again.

". .-Under HYDRA's control, I know. . but Steve, do you not understand? You ganged up on Tony for being rightfully angry about the death of his parents. The death of my best friend. Howard was there for me, from the time I was 18 years old when I ran away from my dad for the first time. He was the one who helped me become an SSR Agent to stay low and under the radar. If it wasn't for Howard, you and I probably never would've met. I know Bucky wasn't himself, but still watching it on tape. Watching him beat the life out of Howard and then staging it to look like a car accident? It's like reliving that day all over again." Katherine said, turning around.

"Kat. .-" She cut him off again.

". .-December 16th, 1991. They were only supposed to be gone for the weekend, through the 20th. Tony was home for Christmas Break. We had the presents ready, everything was set up. I was only going to stay with them until Christmas before going somewhere on my own for New Years, then the story broke. Tony was devastated, my heart was broken. You were dead, Howard was dead. You know Steve, when you went under that ice, my heart went with you, I felt so hollow. . but when Howard died, that killed my soul. I felt like there was nothing left. I was almost so far gone that even Tony almost couldn't bring me back from myself, so yeah. I couldn't just let you beat on my godson like that." She said.

Steve opened his mouth to respond, but then they heard footsteps. T'Challa's footsteps. "Thank you for this." Steve said to him instead. Katherine continued to stare straight ahead.

"Your friend and my father, they were both victims. If I can help one of them find peace. ." He said.

"You know if they find out he's here. . they'll come for him." Katherine said. T'Challa almost had a hint of a smile on his face as he looked back at Katherine.

"Let them try."

Oh no, the tension is high between these two. Bonus scenes coming next. This was the longest movie yet. 17 chapters and that's without bonus scenes, but I had fun.
