I was currently walking down the main shopping street in Sydney with Connor and Jamei. It was well past mid day and it had been hectic. I'd woke up this morning, still no messages or calls from Harrison. So i decided i'd give him some space for today and i'd probably see him tomorrow for the shoot. They still hadnt fixed the rig so it was again, postponed for another day.

"So tell me about your sexy lifeguard" Connor asked, hands full of shopping from the morning we had. "judging by the grin on your face, you've caught feelings" He continues. We were sitting out bags down around an outdoor table at a little cafe, Jamei was away getting drinks for us.
"Well... i havent heard from him since yesterday afternoon." I let my smile drop. "I'm just worried everything went too fast..." I trailed off. Connor nodded understandably.
"Well... me an Jamei have been together for three years now. We met in a bar, and everything moved so fast. But i wouldn't change it for the world" He stared at the back of Jamei's head as he stood in the que chatting to an old couple in the que also.

We chatted about Harrison and Jamei until the latter arrived with three iced frappacinos. Setting them down on the table, then falling into his seat.
"I swear, i need a vodka in this. Im absolutely dead from this heat" We all laughed at his dramatics. I completely forgot about the conversation earlier and we carried on chatting about our excitement for the competition and how Connor was going to stay out for as long as he could.

........................................

It had been two days since i'd heard from Harrison so i decided to take a trip down to the beach before the shoot at 10. I swung past the cute cafe we ate at the first day we got here and grabbed a tray of cupcakes for the guys.

Making my way down to the tower, as soon as i walked in i could tell the mood was different.
"Hi fellas." I greeted. I got a grin off Maxi and a half smile from Jesse. I set the cakes down and leant against the small hand rail near the door.
"Where's Harrison?" I asked, Maxi had already opened the cakes and was stuffing his face with one.
"Has he not spoken to you?" Jesse asked, looking confused. I met that confusion with a double and shook my head.
"No...? I havent heard from him for two days" I frowned as the two boys exchanged looks with eachother.
"There was an incident the other day. A drowning. A young girl, only about 5. Harrison was on duty" Jesse said, "Hoppo gave him a few days off" That was all i needed. I thanked the guys, told maxi to watch his blood sugar and left, thanking Jesse for telling me.

I headed straight to Harrison's apartment and knocked on the door. No answer. So i knocked again. I heard footsteps approaching this time.
"Jesse i told you im fine" He swung the door open. His face puffy. He stopped his rant when he saw it was me and not Jesse.
"Um... Not Jesse" I gave him a small smile. He didn't return it. "Can i come in" I asked, tilting my head.
"I dont think it's a good time right now..." I cut him off.
"Jesse told me what happened. Let me help" I stepped forward, putting my hand on his arm. He was shaking, freezing cold. He stepped back and opened the door for me to come inside. He slammed the door shut after me, making me jump slightly. I stood in the middle of the living room. The blanket that was wrapped around me two days ago, messily flung across the back of the sofa. The food cartons from our dinner still on the table. He's a mess.

He walked back into his bedroom without saying a word to me. So i decided to tidy the rubbish into the bin, once i did that i straightened the room up. I grabbed him a glass of water and walked into his bedroom. I set the glass on his dresser. He was on his bed, curled up with his bare back facing me. I sighed, his shorts hung loose on him. I sighed and climbed onto the bed, hugging him from behind.

"You know im here for you, right?" I whispered into his back. I felt him nod. He was crying, not the whole sobbing situation, just laying there letting tears flow. The tense muscle of his body were shaking under the constant upset. He was still in the same shorts he was in the day i left his. I kissed his shoulder as i sat up. Walking out of the bedroom i grabbed two towels from the cupboard. I walked back into the bedroom and round to the side of the bed Harrison was facing. His face puffy and red. His eyes bloodshot. I grabbed his hands and pulled him up, so he was standing. He didn't even fight. I pulled him into the bathroom and turned on the shower. He just stood there, staring at me. I undid his shorts and left him in his boxers and pushed him towards the tub, and he climbed in and sat down.

I pulled off my t-shirt and jeans, leaving me in just my underwear and climbed in, sitting in front of him, between his legs with mine wrapped around his waist. The warm water drizzling down over us both. I grabbed the loofah from the side of the bath and used some of his body wash to soak it through. I gently washed his shoulders, down his arms and his chest. His eyes were closed and his head hung low. I let the water wash away the soap and placed the loofah back in its resting place.

I scooted closer ho him, lifting his head in my hands, wiping his face with my thumb.
"Why didn't you call me?" I asked, looking at him.
"I didn't want you to see me like this." Was all he said. His voice hoarse.
"I'm here if you need me, Har." I kissed him slowly as he pulled he in for a hug His arms completely wrapping around me and pulling me in close. "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked. He didn't reply for a few seconds then nodded.
"I was on duty. Between the flags. There was a rip and some people got pulled into it. A family." He stopped, taking a deep breath in. I run my hands up and down his back soothingly.
"Me and Reidy managed to get them in. Or we thought so. Until the mother started screaming and pointing. Her daughter was still out there" He shook slightly as if he let out a sob. "By time i got back out to her, she was floating face down. She was only 5 and she was dead. She'd been sucked under by the rip. I was supposed to save her." He took another deep breath. I pulled back, facing him, my hands on each side of his face.

"Dont you talk like that. You're an amazing lifeguard, Harrison. You've saved hundreds of people. That little girl did not die because of you. Dont you dare blame yourself for that. You did your best." I held his face in my hands and kissed him slowly. He kissed back, his hands rising to hold my face too. Pulling away our foreheads rested against each other. His eyes were closed. Water droplets hanging in his hair, dropping onto his face. I reach behind us and turn off the water. We sit in the tub for a few minutes, holding each other, before he grabs me and stands us up.

I step out of the tub, followed by him and hug his torso with all my might. He gives out a little laugh.
"We're still in our underwear, and they're soaking" He says. I look up to him and smile softly.
"I'll take soggy underwear for a happy you, any day" I whisper. Loudly enough so he can hear it, and i know he did. He sat on the side of the bath, holding my hips between his legs. Staring at me.
"Honestly, where did you come from?" He asks. I was taken back by the question. Not really knowing how to answer. He was looking at me intensely. "You just come into my life, out of nowhere, swinging around on a giant hula hoop. And you make everything light up. You make me smile. Make me look forward to the day. I love spending time with you. Watching you perform or even just practice is like watching someone from another planet. You're beautiful and i'm so thankful you came into my life." I didn't know what to say. I could feel myself welling up.
"I honestly don't know what to say, Harrison. You're one of the best people i've ever met. You're smile can brighten my entire day, even from the other side of Bondi. I'm so happy i met you" He hugged me, his head resting above my breasts. My heart was going crazy, and im 99% sure he can hear it.

"We need to get out of these wet things. C'mon" I pulled him back into the bedroom. With the towels.
