Toni sat in the middle of the waiting room. Her foot was continuous tapping as she was worried Alex. The event began to replay in her head.
Flashback
As the car was approaching her, she could hear Alex screaming her name. He ran and managed to pushed Toni out of the car's path. The car made contact with Alex and he somehow rolled on top of the car's hood. His back crashed on the window, cracking the glass upon impact. Toni looked over to seeing Alex laying on the car, unconscious.
Toni: Alex!
The driver of the car came out. A teary eyed Toni ran over to check on a motionless Alex.
Driver: Oh my god.
Toni: Alex, no. Please no! Alex!
End of Flashback
Doctor: Toni Rossall?
Toni: Yes?
Doctor: Please come with me.
She stood up and walked towards the doctor. He allowed Toni into the hallway and closed the door behind them. The doctor talked as he led Toni to where Alex was.
Doctor: Ms Rossall, be rest assured that your boyfriend is doing okay. He's suffered no severe injuries, just some moderate bruising.
Toni: Oh I'm so relieved. Wait... boyfriend?
Doctor: Oh, are you two not dating?
Toni: Not exactly.
Doctor: My apologies. Anyways, Alex is stable and awake. You can go see him.
Toni: Thank you, doctor.
The doctor opened the door and allowed Toni in. She walked in to see Alex laying in a hospital bed.
Alex: Hey Toni.
Toni: Hey Alex. How you feeling?
Alex: A little sore but nothing new. You alright?
Toni: Yeah... I'm just happy to see you're still alive.
