Alex: Gracie...?

Gracie smiled at him and walked towards him for a hug. Alex hugged her back for a couple seconds.

Alex: What are you doing here? I thought you were working with that Italian company you talked about?

Gracie: Well actually, it turned out the owner was leader of a mob family so his company was seized.

Alex: Oh man... are you alright?

Gracie: Yea I'm okay. I feel even better with you here.

She hugged him once, burying her face into Alex's chest.

Gracie: So... um

Alex: So...?

Gracie: Where do we stand now?

Alex's eyes widened as he knew what she meant by that.

Alex: Oh um... Gracie...

Gracie: Yes?

Alex: I think it's best that we talk in my place. It's important.

Gracie: Alex...?

Alex: Please, I'll explain everything. 

So Gracie followed Alex to his flat. She sat down on the couch as Alex closed the door behind them. Then, he sat down right next to his ex. Gracie was confused as to why Alex seemed a bit nervous.

Gracie: Alex, what's wrong?

Alex: Um... Gracie by what you meant 'where do we stand'... you want to be back together?

Gracie: Yes. I do. I still have feelings for you. 

Alex: Gracie... I don't feel have the same feelings... not how I used to. 

Gracie: W-what do you mean?

Alex: I can't be with you now.

Gracie: Alex, what's going on?

Alex: After you left for Italy, I had to move on since you left. I couldn't allow myself to be held back by how I felt when you left. 

Gracie: So... you found another love?

Alex: Yes.

Gracie: But you two aren't officially dating right? You can still leave her to be with me right?

Alex: We actually are dating. At this point, it would be cruel to leave to her. I'd be ripping her heart out if I did that. 

Gracie: But... but... we had a long history...

Alex: I know, Gracie. I know... I'm sorry. It's just that when you left, I didn't think you'd come back. 

Gracie then excused herself.

Gracie: Alex... I think I need to go. 

Alex: Oh... let me get the door. 

Gracie: Thanks. 

She stepped of the flat and walked. Alex closed the door and leaned against it. Gracie walked far enough out of Alex's earshot . Meanwhile, Alex was trying to comprehend the situation at hand. 

Alex: What a tight spot I'm in. What am I gonna do?
