Part 4 - Sweetness Prevails

Dijun was merely tolerating Ji ji Heng. Throughout dinner she kept touching Dijun's arm and  she kept talking about herself or other people. She was getting on his nerves. He had no time for her. Although Ji Ji is beautiful, she was just another silly, childish and self absorbed woman, just like the many he's encountered over the centuries. 

Ji Ji was nothing special and didn't compare to Fengjiu. As the thought filled his mind, he was surprised of the thought because he never realised that Fengjiu always occupied his mind.

Dijun was disinterested in Ji Ji but he knew he had to try and endure her because she is Dong's girlfriend. He has had some experience in Heavens with dealing with spoilt women as he used to tolerate Ye Hua's cousin, Zhi Yue.

Ji Ji could sense Dijun's lack of attention towards her this evening, she was used to his cold personality, he was a man of a few words but tonight she felt the distance between them even more than usual. Over the last couple of years she has devised ways to loosen him up especially when he was in a bad mood, she would coax him with her beauty and body. His demeanor would easily soften and he would spoil her with whatever she wanted. She recently seen a limited edition Hermes hand bag... she started to move closer to Dijun, stroking his arm then her hand gently brushed his knee and towards his inner thigh...

Dijun was surprised by Ji Ji's brazenness especially in public but he did not show his distaste. He was not accustomed to such impropriety but he remembered Si Ming's words about the modern world, people are not as modest and physical contact/ intimacy is normal. Dijun gently moved her hand away from him and simply said "not tonight" but Ji Ji was too persistent, she brushed her breasts against his arm.

Dijun was not prepared to take this any further, Ji Ji was testing his patience and he had enough. Modern world or not, no one can make Dijun do something he did not want to do, after all he is Dong Hua Dijun so he turned to her ever so calmly and said "I don't want this. I can't be with you anymore. It's over between us" 

And just like that - Dijun was as ruthless as ever.

Ji ji's hand was still on him. Now it was her turn to be in shock - she couldn't believe what he had just said to her. She spent two years trying to win him over, working her magic on him and was hoping that he would finally propose to her this year. She really didn't see this coming. 

She gasped and tears streamed down her face, she looked at him in such disbelief and whispered "but why Dong?? What have I done??"

Dijun simply told her she was no longer what he was looking for. He took her hand from his thigh and put it on the table. He told her it was better this way and hoped they could remain amicable.  Before he left, he offered to take her home but she refused.

She needed time to process it all. She felt humiliated and completely blind sighted. 

She collected herself and thought:

*It can't be over. He didn't mean it, he's just stressed from work. He's in a mood, in a few days when he has calmed down, he will regret it. Perhaps he is just punishing me for being too busy with work and partying with my friends for the past three weeks instead of taking time out to care for him after his car accident. I know I was selfish but for him to just throw two years away because of this was crazy. I will give him space to miss her, but I will not give up on us so easily. I will capture his heart and attention again. I have worked too hard. He is mine*

Si Ming read the Mortal Book of Love Affairs and found out what Dijun had done. He shook his head and thought to himself *Only Dijun could break up with a beautiful woman within an hour of the first date. He really is something.*
