Fourteen hundred and sixty days ago Bill Temple brought forth upon this platform, a new site, conceived in imagination and dedicated to the proposition that all poets can create equally. Now we are engaged in testing whether or not that site or all the Pub's sites so conceived can endure.
We are met on a daring field of challenges and have come to dedicate a portion of that field in past collections honouring the many who contributed so brilliantly to the Pub's objective.
But in a larger sense, we can not dedicate the many new contributions of those who participate here and have exceeded with their own brilliance. The world will little note, nor long remember what we said here, but this platform can never forget what we did here.
It is for us, the poets, to remain dedicated to the opportunity and pleasure of creating and appreciating the works that are presented in the Pub, and that we all shall have not written in vain, that these sites, these gatherings shall endure, giving any who wish to express themselves poetically without restraint, shall not perish from this platform.
Congratulations to Bill and all the marvellous members!
Founders note : lyttlejoe was the very first Pubber of the Year in 2015 and also the first Poet of the Year, also in 2015. He is a legend here at the Poets Pub and the most recognizable of all the Pubbers.
