Happy Anniversary, to all of you at the Pub! It feels like I've known you guys for years but wait, it's only been a little over a year since I sent you my first poem. I guess that's what happens when one is with good company – Time flies. For that, I sincerely thank you for your wonderful presence. You guys are amazing. *hugs*
As some of you might have noticed, I'm constantly on and off Wattpad – and one of the things that keep me coming back a little more often is the Pub. When I found the poetry contests that you guys had last year, I was blown away by the level of poetry, the level of understanding, the different people and different perspectives everyone had for each contest. There was something here for everyone and it became very clear to me that this was someone's passion project. It was a very special corner of the internet and I wanted in.
At the time, I was looking for a challenge. I love stories, poetry, art, and storytelling, but there was one thing thing I knew I wasn't great at: Words. No matter how many times the kind people in my life told me I could write or that I was a great writer, I often had to disagree on the inside. Not because I couldn't produce good stories but because I was never one to be obsessed with words, especially big words. So it's a department I had to work extra hard in. In the same vein, poetry was never my strong suit but I knew that if I wanted to sharpen my skills as a storyteller, I'm gonna have to do poetry every once in awhile. So I'm really grateful that you guys made an environment that made me want to try more than I usually do. You guys were so nice and encouraging, I kept coming back and sending in more poems. LOL.
So thank you for doing what you do, for making this platform and for all the love and friendships I've found here. The crowd here really is the best I've seen on Wattpad and I am super grateful to have be a part of this family. Thank you all so much and God bless. Cheers to another wonderful year ahead!
