It was actually all of most_bay's doing honestly. He was the one that got me into writing poetry and gave me the idea for Poetic Adventure. (This was before I joined the Pub)
Fast forward a week or so, I ended up deleting my Poetic Adventure book simply because I didn't enjoy writing poetry then nor did I like my works.
It was then that MB told me about PoetsPub a place for poets to gather around, beginner or not. Obviously I was a beginner and still am today. I read the Behind the Bar book and I got accustomed to the guidelines. Soon after, I was searching for recent poems and I stumbled across Cornucopia. I read some the poems in that book and I noticed all the support and encouragement in the comments that the poets received.
I got more active in supporting the poems and then I started Poetic Adventure up again with Most_Bays help that is.
Honestly, I don't think I would've ever started writing poetry if it wasn't for Most_Bay.
Say 10+ poems later, and I stumbled across Bill's odyssey book which was full of his thoughts that just popped up in his head. He and i got talking and I found another way of writing poetry (as I like to call Short Thoughts). "Write down anything that pops up in your head." He said something a long those lines and that's how more of my poems came about.
I started submitting my poems into Cornucopia and the April Contest and honestly, I don't think I have ever gotten that much support on my poems. I've always thought that my poems were crappy but PoetsPub members proved otherwise and that's what got me to keep writing.
I'm more of a free verse and prose writer than I am with creative writing like some of Most_Bays and VioletEdens pieces. Nonetheless, poetry is poetry is what I've heard.
I can't thank all of the PoetsPub members enough for their support and encouragement as I continue this poetry adventure! I'd like to say a huge thank you though to MB and Bill for their support in this journey, I probably wouldn't have continued writing as much as I have without their support.
