Dear Poets Pub,

It was just over a year ago that I first walked cautiously through the doors of the Pub, not quite sure what to expect.

It was only by chance that I came to know of the Pub, in fact, I'd never even heard of Wattpad the platform upon which it is based.

It was just by chance that whilst out shopping with my wife we bumped into some old neighbours, who we hadn't seen for years. My wife being the social one immediately invites them to join us for a coffee, which fortunately they graciously accepted.

For some time, we reminisced about our old homes and our children who are of similar ages. It came as a surprise when Polllardii as some of you know her commented on how she now enjoyed writing poetry and my wife replied Steve also likes writing. We were soon discussing publishing and how whilst awaiting a life-threatening operation, I'd self-published a couple of short stories on Kindle to put a tick on my bucket list.

It was then she told me about Wattpad and PoetsPub a place where she shared poems with other like-minded people.

I've thanked her on more than once for the introduction and enjoy her personalized approach to writing poetry, somehow making the ordinary day to day things interesting.

I still don't consider myself to be a skilled or accomplished poet, but thanks to the pub I now know that you don't have to be, for fellow Pubbers to read and comment on your work.

I've never been a prolific or confident writer, but the Pub has given me the confidence to enter poems and short stories I have written in its weekly competitions, the first of which was Waling-Waling in April 2018's Spring is Sprung Competition.

So rather than write a poem to express my appreciation I thought I'd do it in the form a letter, wishing every member of our global family a humungous thank you, with a special mention to those special people I've befriended and collaborated with in PP & BG.

Here's raising my glass to a great future, Steve (NehpetsEnal)
