Dear Zombie

Chapter 4

As my sister steps outside I can only wish her to keep me and mum alive, the air was thick with smell of rotting flesh, my mum gags beside me at the smell of the stench. "it looks pretty safe but it is foggy so keep together and whatever you do, stay quiet" we nod and without making a sound we make our way across the street towards Harp's house. "can we see if Harp Is okay?" I whisper

"Fine but be quick" says Tess

I thank her and quickly yet quietly run ahead of everyone towards Harp's door I knock on the door and ring the door bell, I'm greeted by her older brother Noah

"Bridget thank god your alive" he hugs me tightly

"Is Harp okay?" I ask

"She's fine just- upset"

Noah leads me through the house and up the stairs to Harps room, as he opens the door all I could  smell was blood, I look up to see Harp standing off in the corner of the room in blood stained pyjamas and a knife in her hands with her chin buried into her chest "Our mum was infected and walked into her room so she had to... you know" says Noah

"I'll try and calm her down just give us a second alone" Noah nods and leaves the room only leaving me and harp inside.

I walk up to her slowly

"H-harp its me" I whisper

Harp looks up and pounces forward giving me a loving hug

"I thought you died" she blurts as she sobs on my shoulder

"Well I'm not" I say laughing

Just as we let go of each other Noah walks in with my sister and mum "Harp! you poor soul come here!" yells my mum coming towards her giving her a kiss and a hug, "what are we doing now?" says Tess impatiently

"Well, let's sleep and go in the morning" suggests Noah

"Go where?" I ask

"Apparently there's a safe zone getting built on the other side of the city" Tess says

"all ready?" I say

"the apocalyps broke out a week ago, but it's only just reached us"                                                          "well, the safe zone sounds like a good idea" says mum

"Let's not get worked up, we'll get supplies and stuff in the morning just rest for now" suggests harp

"Okay I'll stay watch" says Noah

Everybody looked at him confused

" Just incase we get overrun by those... things"

Everybody nodded in Agreement

"We'll sleep down in the basement, it's probably safest down their" says harp

"Well, it's a plan, let's get some rest" Tess says

We walked down to the basement and spreader out sheets and pillows, Harp changed into some new clothes and we laid next to each other and everybody else did around us " Do you think we'll survive?" She ask

"We will" I promised

"I know we will"

Harp nodded and turned around with her back away from me

"I'm glad were together". She said with her head muffled into the pillow

"Me to"
