Chapter 11

I turn to Harp, my eye's wide and my guard on

I stand up and slowly walk into the darkness before i could step any further, footsteps grab my attention i slowly walk backwards to Harp.

i man walks or more like stumbles into the light

Noah

"Noah!" i scream running towards him hugging him tight, he winches making me worry

"Noah are you hurt?" i ask

Noah winches again clawing at the side of his torso, his t=shirt soaking with copper smelling blood.

lift up his shirt to see is actually quite fit figure covered with blood, his hip had been stabbed

I turn away not able to see him like this

"is he hurt?" asked Harp coming over and also lifting his shirt

"holy shit, you've been stabbed!"

"state the obvious much" cough's Noah

"you know, you've just got stabbed and you still got and asshole for an attitude" says Harp opening up her bag and taking out bandages and alcohol.

i stand up and look around to see a little flashing light not to far away, i walk towards it and find that it's the light source to this end of the mall

"thank god" i whisper to myself

flicking the switch and the lights turn white within seconds of me turning them on.

"Thanks Bridget, your a lifesaver" says Harp

'i wouldn't really say that, the fact that i've already seen 2 people die'

i look at my surroundings to find that the mall is surprisingly empty without any mobs of people hoarding it. and it's awfully quiet to. there were only a couple of bodies besides the ones we shot.

Tess walked over to Noah.

"so you've- been stabbed" says Tess, trying to hold in tears

"yeah one of those dickheads stabbed me"

Tess whipped her hair into place behind her ear then walked around the shops looking through the shutters,

I followed her to get some time alone together

"so should we get into one of these shops?" i ask

"these shops are locked though" she says

"you know how good Harp is at picking locks" i say

Tess nods her head and keeps walking.

we got into the food court area, again, nothing not a sound.

i grip my hand around Tess' not able to even think how i would feel if i lost her, it will still quite dim in the area of the food court, but at least we could see

"i'm guessing those girls cleared out this place" says Tess

Tess hears someone behind us and immediately put up her gun

"second time you've put a gun in between my eyes" says Noah stumbling backwards a little bit

I put my hands on his chest to stop him falling over

Tess slaps her hands on her hips annoyingly

"im okay" he says holding onto my hands and looking at me sweetly

i take my hands off his chest a little embarrassed, i know he was older but he was so nice to me.

" hey, harp said it should be safe to go back out now" he says rubbing the back of his head

Tess pushes past him and walks off, so me and Noah walked back together not talking much at all.\

"you guys ready to go?" asks Harp

i nod my head and go and grab my bag loading my gun, and taking out my sword.

everyone else started walking, i decided that Harp needed some time alone, surly i;m really bugging her, so i decided to walk with Kate

I tapped kate on the sholder " you know how to shoot a gun?" i ask

Katy's eyes open up as wide as anything

" I-i think so" she says

a take a gun out of my belt and pass it to her

She puts it into her bag "thanks"

" it's just if, you know, we split up you can protect yourself" i say

"but that's never going to happen right?" she asks

"never" i lie

'never'

"you guys can you walk faster please" says Tess

i look up and obey, i take Katy's hand and rush up to Noah and Harp.

We've been walking for what felt like hours into the city

I was ready to pass out

" hey" says Harp clenching my arm

"you okay?" she asked

"yeah yeah fine j- just tired" i shivered, i only just noticed how cold it was.

"i-i'm freezing" i say to Harp

" dont worry i am to" says Harp putting her arm around me giving me comfort

Katy still clenched onto my hand.

when it all seemed like nothing was going to hurt us, was when i jinxed us.

sirens started up again, tanks and trucks rumbled and howling and yelling was all i could hear.

"everybody split!" says Tess taking katy's hand and running to my left Noah takes my hand and takes me straight towards a Little shop leaving Harp in the middle of the street, i couldn't look, i could only hope and pray that she ran and hid.

Noah ran into a shop dragging me with him he closed and locked the door behind us.

I could hardly stand, i slipped to the ground my head flopped side to side trying to stay awake but i couldn't handle it. my mind went blank and i slowly fell asleep.
