Jennie walked into school the next day trying to pretend nothing happened. Of course, that was impossible when Irene left her side and Rosé came to her. She let out a sigh, placing her head on her closed locker.
"What, Roseanne?" she grumbled.
"You are not going to pretend like nothing happened," Rosé said. "I won't let you."
"I think I've got the message," Jennie looked at her. "I just think we should keep our distance, Rosé."
Rosé took a step backwards. Jennie looked down, letting out a small chuckle.
"I'm not saying you have to date me, Jennie," Rosé said, "but give me a chance?"
Jennie let out a sigh. "Fine."
"Great," the pink haired girl smiled. "You'll be riding with me after school today."
"Huh—"
"See you then. Bye!"
The girl walked off, leaving Jennie confused.
"Jennie!"
She looked up and there was Chris.
"Irene says that she and the girls are having issues, so she won't be back to talk before class," Chris said.
"Issues?" Jennie asked.
"I didn't ask. I don't think it's something I want to know."
"Understandable," the exchange student nodded. "I guess we can head to class."
"Why were you so panicked last night?" Chris asked her as they began walking.
"Oh," Jennie laughed, looking at the boy. "I just—Holy shit."
First, Jennie was talking to Chris. Next thing she knew, she was on the hallway floor.
"What the hell?" she heard Chris say.
"Calm down. It was an accident," an unknown male voice replied.
She saw two hands extend out to help her up. She looked up at Chris and one of the most beautiful guys she has ever seen. He smiled at her.
"I'm Kai," he said.
She got up on her own and dusted herself off.
"Jennie," she replied.
"Are you okay?" Chris asked her.
"I didn't mean to knock you down," Kai said to her. "You fell pretty hard, though. Do you need to go to the nurse?"
"Not with you," Chris smiled at him, leading Jennie away from the boy.
"What in the—"
"Kim Jongin," Chris said. "Playboy. Stay away from him at all costs."
"Jongin?" Jennie looked back.
"He came here a few years ago. He's from—"
"Korea. I know. He was my best friend," she said. "He looks so different."
"That's what puberty does to you," Chris pat her shoulder. "Let's go. We're gonna be late."
The two walked into the almost full classroom right as the bell rang. Their teacher looked at them and sighed.
"Have a seat. You got lucky today."
Unlucky for Chris and Jennie, the only seats were in front of them.
"We don't bite," Ten said.
"Unless you want us to," Lucas winked.
"For the last time, she is not interested, Lucas," Jisoo rolled her eyes.
"Oh, I know who she's interested in," the boy laughed.
"Do you now?" Jennie sat in her seat. "Who?"
"You don't want me to tell everyone, do you?"
"Lucas, I have never met a boy that acts like a teenage girl," Taeyong said. "Then I met you."
"Thank you for acknowledging my feminine side, TY Track."
"I thought we were letting that go."
"Booming system uh, uh," Ten said.
Taeyong's ears got read as he put his head on his desk. Jisoo laughed, rubbing the boys back.
"Anyway," Lucas looked back at Jennie. "How's Rosé?"
"You're asking the wrong Kim," Jennie smiled.
"Am I?"
"Cut it out, Xuxi," Chris said.
"What'd I do? I'm just—"
The door to the classroom opened.
"Look who it is," Ten sat back in his seat.
"Yes, Miss Park?" their teacher sighed.
"I need Jennie," Rosé said.
The exchange student looked at her.
"For?"
"She has to finish a test," Rosé answered. "She was supposed to come earlier today, but she must've forgotten."
"Go ahead," Jennie's teacher dismissed her.
"Have fun finishing that test, Jennie," Lucas smirked as the girl walked off.
"Fuck off, Lucas," Rosé said.
"Roseanne!"
Rosé grabbed Jennie's arm and they bolted out of the room and down the hallway. They stopped when they rounded a corner and caught their breath.
"Now, I know for a fact that I don't have a test I need to finish," Jennie said. "So, what's up?"
"Right," Rosé said. "What's your favorite food?"
Jennie smiled at the girl. "Seriously?"
"'Seriously?'" Rosé mocked her. "Yes, Jennie, this is important."
"Everything's so expensive here, I don't—"
"I'm rich. Come on, now. I have to get you back to class."
"You can pick," Jennie said. "It's supposed to be a surprise date, right?"
"It's a date now?" Rosé wiggled her eyebrows.
Jennie looked down, hiding her flushed cheeks. "I guess so."
