Erased
The sun was barely rising and yet Alaya was already up, sitting on the window seat that was in the living room she calls home. Well at least it used to feel like home.
Her eyes slowly wandered towards the clock that was just above the fireplace to see that it was already 4 am 'Another sleepless night' she thought to herself as her eyes caught the wedding pictures of her and her husband.
Her vision started to blur as soon as she stared at it.
Her husband was still not home ever since the fight yesterday. Nothing really new about fighting and sadly, the nights of him not coming home.
She knew deep down that he found another, but she tries to decline it every so often even if she already caught him red handed, without him knowing.
The tears streamed down silently as her heart broke quietly.
She shrieked as soon as the front door opened loudly to reveal a tired looking Grayson, her husband of 5 years.
She quickly wiped away her tears and looked out the window, not wanting him to see her break down so easily.
"You're still up?" He asked quietly as he found his wife on their window seat hugging her legs to her chest while looking out the window.
He expected her to come running to him and apologise for the fight that occurred yesterday, which she usually does but it surprised him when he only got a nod out of her, not even a glance.
"Everything okay?" He asked and slowly approached her. He loves this woman in front of him but he is slowly doubting that he is actually in love with her.
She felt him come closer and she stiffened as soon as she smells the air. He smelled like perfume, perfume that she usually smells on another girl.
Her heart broke all over again.
He saw her stiffen so he tried to grab her shoulder as comfort but before he could even touch her she was out of the seat and far away from him.
"I-I gotta go" he barely heard her whisper as she gathered her phone, keys and shoes to the couch so she could slip her shoes on.
He looked at her in confusion. Where the hell would she go at 4am? He thought to himself before he could stop himself he asked the question that his wife has been asking him every night.
"Where are you going?"
She stiffened midway of putting on her shoes. She needed an escape from this nightmare she calls reality and she knew that if she stayed, she would break down in front of him.
The question that she has been asking him every single night came rolling off his tongue like he cared. But she knew he didn't.
"Somewhere" he gasped quietly as he felt a sting to his heart. Pain that he felt long ago before marrying the woman of his dreams.
It shouldn't have hurt him, he answers the same question the same. He watched his wife pick up her phone and keys then leave the house so quickly that he didn't have time to hold her back.
His mind is going crazy.
One part of him wants him to cancel the divorce and to stay with his wife but the other keeps thinking about Katherine, the girl who caught his attention during a meet up.
A smile formed on his lips but it fell as soon as he hears Alaya's car drive off to wherever. He felt uneasy knowing that he doesn't know where she is headed to.
He always ignored her texts when she tells him where she is, thinking that he didn't really care, but now that she is off somewhere he doesn't know, he feels worried somehow.
He shook his head deciding to call Katherine to keep his mind off of Alaya.
Her eyes were blurry as she drove down the road that she's been driving down for the past 5 years. She knew that in a few days, this road will soon be only in the past.....
