Name: Zachary "Zach" Forrester
Age: 16
Male
Appearance:
Although Zach may be considered vain by others, he feels that he has the right to be. Classically handsome, with sculpted features accentuated by high cheekbones, Zach definitely considers himself model material. Black hair, always mussed up perfectly, tops his head. His skin, naturally a tad dark and lightly tanned, is about the same shade as his light brown eyes. His boyfriend used to say they were hazel, but whatever.
Zach always tries to exude confidence, standing as tall as possible with a look in his eyes that makes sure no one does as much as looks at him the wrong way. He's a little over six feet tall, so, in combination with his muscular build, he can be a tad intimidating. A lone smile from him could totally change that though.
Personality:
Zach, despite the confidence that he exudes, is actually a pretty shy person. Maybe it's because he's naturally like that, or maybe it's because he has grown used to being rejected by people. Either way, he is pretty unlikely to start up a conversation with someone else. If someone does start a conversation with him, they'll find that he's an altogether nice person.
Perhaps Zach's best trait is that he's incredibly loyal. It's either that or he's brave, but courage is unlikely to come up in day-to-day conversations. Once someone has made friends with him, he'll show a kinder side than what he shows to strangers. He's not the funniest person, most of his jokes are just puns, but he's trustworthy, caring, and exhibits all the best traits of a good friend.
Background:
Some may say that the defining part of Zach's history is his sexuality. In case you haven't noticed yet, Zach is a flaming homosexual. Zach, on the other hand, refuses to let such a trait define his history. A straight person wouldn't say that's the most important thing about them. So, for now, that's just going to be ignored.
Zach is a melting pot of all sorts of ethnicities and cultures, although he would label himself as Creole. It's the same ethnicity as Beyoncé, so he's cool with it. His family is strongly religious and, although that has caused a bit of pain in his past, they are now totally supporting of him. The baby of the family, Zach's older brother and sister are already off at Uni. His parents give him about as much freedom as he desires, as he's altogether fairly responsible. His siblings turned out fine anyway.
Now we're back to the gay part. For the past several months, Zach has been dating a wonderful boy named Ritchie (Ricky or Richard depending on who else you ask). Zach helped Ritchie through all the cliche angsty gay stuff that most everyone is familiar with, and they've been openly dating ever since Ritchie came out. Zach, although he would never be the first to admit it, is utterly in love with Ritchie. He'd do anything for his boyfriend, and already is hoping to marry the boy as soon as they're old enough, and they can afford it.
Fears:
Zach's biggest fear, losing Ritchie, was one that he already had to face at the carnival. Ritchie's grandmother, a traditional (read: homophobic) old woman manages to send shivers down Zach's spine to this day.
In the realm of physical fears, Zach has always been afraid of the paranormal. He was taught not to mess with voodoo, or any other form of witchcraft, from a very early age, and still can't watch horror movies involving ghosts or demons. In the angsty teenage sense, his biggest fear is probably dying without having done anything remarkable.
Other:
Zach showed up at the fair today with the expectation that he and Ritchie could have the time of their lives. Making out on the Ferris Wheel, sharing cotton candy, winning each other stuffed animals, all that jazz. Instead, Grannie Lore invited herself, and spent the majority of the day lecturing the pair about their sins.
Zach and Ritchie were in the midst of figuring out University when this whole thing happened. They'd already figured out what colleges they'd apply to, and promised one wouldn't go without the other. Zach just didn't think their separation would be so abrupt.
