It was again that day. The day that ripped her heart out of her chest. Just a few years later. It was the first time she visited the grave alone. Elfmann layed in bed at home, he was sick. he wanted to go with him, he really wanted to. But Mirajane forced him to stay in bed. It was a cold and rainy day, she didn't wanted him to get a cold to his fibre. She looked down at her sister's grave and put the flowers down. She always bought orchidees. She didn't knew why. Maybe because she thought Lisanna's favourite flowers would be them. Or because they reminded Mirajane of her.
She sighed and wanted to leave, when a dark familiar voice spoke up behind her.

„How long?" Mirajane immediatly knew what Laxus was talking about.

„Three years", she answered in a low and surprisingly steady voice.

He nodded, his head to the ground. She couldn't see it because he still stood behind her, but she knew he did. They knew each other long enough now.

She felt how he stepped next to her. She reached out for his hand and when she gripped it, she held it in a firm grip. She put all of her sorrow into it and Laxus knew it. He gave her halt.

He drew little circles with his thumb over her soft skin, to chill her, to relax her. It didn't function and that was the reason she pressed her whole body against his side. She silently started to cry. Little waterstrands fell over Laxus' black shirt.

He didn't care.

He loosed his grip around her small hand and put his arm around her shoulders, pressing her more against him.

That was the moment it started to rain. With his free hand he grabbed his coat and swung it over her and himself, saving them both of the rain. They waited till the rain stopped and the sun came out. Till then Mira sobbed into Laxus' muscular chest, loving him for being there.

They never talked about it again.

She never asked why he was at the grave yard. Or if he knew that Elfmann was sick. He never asked why she bought orchidees. He also never asked why Natsu didn't went with her.

But they had an agreement, an agreement they made without words.

Even if it was more a promise.

He told her he would never leave her alone with something like that.

She didn't believe it at first but he kept his promise.

In the most horrible moments of her life he was there for her, helped her and made her relax.

And since she was twelve years old, he was also part of her happiest moments in life and made them brighter with just watching her from the background.
