As we walked into the warm, old, dimly lit building on 221b Baker Street in Quincy, Iowa; Azalea began to jump and dance like she had to go to the bathroom. I looked over to the ancient desk in the corner, and as usual, Arthur was sitting there with a book and a cup of warm tea. He had a loving, honest, welcoming look when he smiled. He had pure white hair that reminded me of snow. He looked up and smiled at us. "Hey, Arthur," I murmured with a half smile. My heart began to go pitter-pat with relief that the school week was finally over.
"Mr. Linden!" giggled Azalea next to me. "Can you tell us a story," she begged.
"Definitely, I want to waste my time to hear one of those," I mocked in a snarky, sarcastic voice. I have been coming to this library with Azalea every day since she was six, I've been coming here longer though. I love Mr. Linden he is like a grandfather to all the kids who come here.
"Oh are you sure dear?" cackled Arthur. "I don't want to bore Violet to death." he mocked, looking at me with a foolish grin that shows off his yellow dentures.
"Oh please!" cried Rosemary, who just stepped through the door with her brother Alexander. "Don't listen to her, she really is odd!" Rose teased.
"Hey!" I chuckled, "go ahead, Arthur. Give them what they want."
"So, Mr. Linden, about that story," insisted Azalea.
"Did I hear 'story!'" shouted Bali walking in from the room over. Bali was Arthur's grandson, he lived with Arthur. He was a short, brown-haired boy. He was very kind, but devious and enjoyed messing with the other kids. He respected his grandfather. He and Alexander were good friends. He had bright blue eyes that could light up a pitch black room. Azalea, on the other hand, had the lightest curly blond hair, and dark brown eyes like my mother. She had a sea of freckles that made her look like a dot to dot picture, but they made her appear sophisticated and beautiful. Rosemary had bright red hair that depicted her fiery personality. Her skin was as pale as a porcelain doll, covered in intense red freckles. She was intelligent and enjoyed reading and hearing stories. Alexander looked exactly like Harry Potter. He had brown messy hair, and bright green eyes, he even had a scar on his forehead from when he fell down one of the ladders here last summer. He was a calm timid child, that's why I was shocked when he and Bali became good friends. People usually didn't know that Alex and Rose were twins. They were very different. Rose was outgoing and sociable, but Alex was very shy and reserved. That's the crew. All of us were here, every single day
