"Her name was Ebony Williams, she was a beautiful young girl, and she had the darkest black hair. Her eyes though, her eyes were the brightest, most brilliant shade of sapphire blue." Arthur now had the widest, happiest grin on his face. His eyes had lit up and he looked 20 years younger. I glanced around, everyone in the room was grinning ear to ear with joy and excitement. "Her skin was as pale as snow. She was as sweet as honey, and her kindness, her kindness helped many others. She was loved by so many people, but they didn't know they loved her, because she was the smallest, quietest person anyone ever knew. Little did they know, she was doing things to help them, every day. She sat in the back corner of the class. Nobody ever spoke to her, and she never spoke to anyone. Even though she was the brightest person in class she never raised her hand, not once in nine years at school, but that was the thing. What if she had talked, what if she had asked for help. Nobody knew what happened to her at home until one day a brave, cowardly boy sat by her at lunch. He was as quiet and shy as her, but he did know what happened to her at home because he was her neighbor." Arthur recalled. The smile had left his face he continued, "She didn't know this because she was never allowed to leave her house except for when she had school. The boy had opened his lunch bag and said with the bravest voice he could create." Arthur sat up and made his voice really deep, he held out his hand like he was introducing himself, then continued, " 'Hello, my name is Tor,' said the boy." He went on with his story about the girl, "Ebony looked up from her book, and with a voice as small as an atom she had whispered 'hello.' She quickly looked down with embarrassment." Arthur recounted. " Tor noticed that Ebony had no lunch so he kindly offered her a shiny red apple, but she wouldn't peel her eyes from the book. Tor retrieved the apple quickly, he now had a bright red face, almost as red as the shiny apple. The rest of the lunch period they sat in silence. The lunch staff was in complete shock. They had never expected anyone to sit next to her, especially not the quiet boy. They had tried so hard to get Ebony to talk, but they had no such luck. Then when Tor had sat next to her, she spoke immediately. It was a tiny little word, but it sounded like a hurricane to people who had never heard her speak before." Arthur looked down at his trembling hands.
