"Where does the girl live?" asked Azalea with a curious look on her face. I was so possessed by Arthur's story I hadn't even realized she had gotten up and grabbed her pink blanket from its home behind the couch and she began to cuddle up with it.
"Here," Arthur continued as his face turned red "in the 70's" I glanced up at Arthur as he proceeded to tell the story, "The bell rang to signal it was time for Ebony and Tor to go to class. They both had an Advanced English class together. Ebony placed her book in her bag and plopped her bag on to her back then began to head towards her class. Tor quickly threw his lunch away and walked a few paces behind her. Ebony's face was pale red as she hurried to class. When they got to room #32 Ebony headed toward the back right corner where she always sat. Tor followed her, she placed her bag on the ground and pulled her chair out from its place in the desk. She sat down on the chair and plopped her head on the desk with embarrassment. Tor's face had turned red once again when he sat down in the seat next to Ebony."
Arthur paused, he looked over at me and smiled slightly. I was in a trance, Arthur had given a ridiculous amount of detail for telling a story. I took another sip of my tea, now it was at the perfect temperature. "The other students began to file into the naturally lit room. They all took their seats as they chattered amongst themselves. When the tardy bell rang Mrs. Waters walked in, she had wrinkled skin from how often she smiled. Mrs. Waters gazed over at Tor and Ebony, she grinned when she saw that they sat next to each other. Tor fixed his gaze on the window. He was looking out at the flag in the courtyard. He watched as the flag flapped in the fierce wind. Ebony still had her head slumped on the wooden desk. Her long hair sat over her shoulder and made her face impossible to see. Mrs. Waters glanced up at her, the smile left her face as she saw Ebony sitting in her seat." Arthur's gruff voice became brittle as he continued. "Mrs. Waters made her way to the chalkboard in the front of the class. She began to speak with a silver voice 'Good afternoon class, your assignment on fictional writing is due. I hope you all did well, and tried your hardest.' She glanced over at Ebony for a third time. The students all walked up to the front of the class with their papers. Ebony still hadn't moved a muscle. Mrs. Waters walked towards the back of the class. She kneeled at Ebony's desk and asked with a soft, loving voice, 'may I please have your paper?'. Ebony exited her trance. She stooped over her bag and pulled out a destroyed, paper folder. Inside were papers with neat cursive handwriting scribbled on them. Ebony had papers among papers of stories. She pulled out one on a nice, smooth sheet of paper and handed it over to Mrs. Waters. Ebony quickly went back to her sad position on the desk. Mrs. Waters had gotten up quickly and said with her kind, fruity voice 'thank you Ms. Williams,' she looked at Ebony with hope that she would have gotten a quiet peep, but instead got silence. Tor then made his way to his seat next to Ebony in the back of the room as Mrs. Waters turned back to the front of the classroom." Arthur had regained his composure by then and was sitting calmly with a gravelly voice. He slowly took a noisy slurp of his tea.
