Betrayal.

It's a fickle thing, isn't it?

I'm no stranger to betrayal. In fact, everyone has experienced betrayal. It's nothing concerning, really, since it's not such an abstract concept to grasp.

You make a relationship with someone you trusted, and then they break your heart and stab you in the back. Figuratively, anyway.

But you know, in my position of power, betrayal is almost expected.

For example, Sinn.

Ah, Sinn. He was my most prized soldier. Loyal, handsome, and even on top of that, he was a skilled fighter who had the ability to commune with the spirits of the dead and the other world. I had known him since I was a young prince, and even then, I knew that he was special.

It was most surprising, really, when he attempted to poison me and ran away.

Granted, I DID tell him his sister was dead. She really wasn't, but hey, I needed some way to get him to activate his powers as a Star Child. My power activated through extreme grief, and I believed that it would be the same for Sinn.

I was incorrect. Instead, he went into a rage-filled mania and refused to serve his position as Brigadier General of the Royal Guard for weeks. And that's when he attempted to kill me.

Honestly, if he was so angry that his precious Yuiko was dead, why didn't he try to confirm her death by trying to contact her spirit? Sinn is quite of a dense imbecile who thinks with his heart and not his brain.

No worries, however.

My dear Kurenai, ah, dear Kurenai, she really is a blessing to have in the care of Orion. Even though that she was a captive in her own room, she gave me what no one else could. Prophecies. Fortunes.

The future.

Sinn would return, the prophecies confirmed it.

And when he does, I shall do the same that he did to me.

Although this time, the blade would be literal.
