areum couldn't fall back to sleep after jisung had told her not to worry about it. she thought it was because he was still exhausted so she let him sleep for a couple more hours since it would be morning soon.

jisung occupied the small cushion beside her bed while hyunjin was laying on the couch. chan took the other arm chair, and changbin was sleeping on an extra mattress the hospital provided them. the others went home to take care of small things that's what areum thought.

her mind was wrapped about the weird dreams she had. it felt too real to be fake or anything else. she knew that it had to be real, but her answers were left unanswered. what was it that she couldn't know? what was jisung hiding from her?

areum closed her eyes for a second, breathing in lightly as she tried to take her mind off of it. then, her eyes popped back open, and she found herself glancing at hyunjin who was sleeping peacefully on the couch.

she examined him quietly. the way he slept looked uncomfortable as his head was positioned on the arm rest of the couch with his long legs dangling from the sides. areum grinned before taking the long soft blanket that was wrapped around her body off of her.

she knew she wasn't allowed to get up from bed, but seeing hyunjin with no blanket or anything to cover him other than his sweatshirt that he was wearing made her want to wrap him up in a blanket to keep him warm. areum slid off the hospital bed, slowly making her way to hyunjin.

areum made sure she was quiet, and then placed the blanket over his shivering body. it warmed her heart that hyunjin was sleeping as he usually would have trouble sleeping. that would cause areum to stay up late with him, talking about random things that they could relate to. or sometimes they would be asking each other how their day went even though they were always together and silence would overtake their conversation shortly. but nonetheless they enjoyed each other's company.

areum then sat on the ground next to hyunjin. she was by his head, and her arm stretched over to brush the loose bangs on his forehead away, seeing his shiny forehead. she began to hum a small tune to herself, enjoying the presence of silence with her as she swayed her head a little to the tune.

she stayed sitting next to him for a while before falling asleep with her head resting against his arm.

yesterday night

felix watched as the girl in front of him played with the yellow straw that was swimming in the pool full of coke. he silently sat there, itching to say something to her, but he was scared to speak as the tears that fell from her eyes dried on her cheeks, creating water marks.

he wanted to reach over and tap her on the shoulder to wake her up, to check if she was okay, but the same feeling called 'scared' forced him not to. felix gritted his teeth in frustration as he scrunched up his nose and shook his head. he probably shouldn't do it and decided to give her some space.

sowon sat across from him gloomily. she was watching the small tornadoes she was making with the straw that was in her grasp. sowon felt too upset to speak, and she was afraid the boy in front of her would judge her. maybe he would call her a 'killer' or a 'murderer' like everyone else would.

after hyunjin had ran away from the party, sowon raced after him in an attempt to catch up to him to speak to him. her plan had failed miserably, and a concerned felix was rushing after the two. when he came across her crying her heart out on the curb of the sidewalk, he felt too mean to walk away and suggested that the two should go to a convenience store to talk.

it was strange how felix was mad at her a few hours ago, but here he was, starting a conversation with sowon in order to get her to open up to him. he really wanted to know her intentions of why she came back.

"you know, i was named after my grandpa," felix said out of the blue, hoping to catch her interest, but sowon was the least interested in whatever he had to say. he didn't give up though. "and i used to hate my korean name, but now it's stuck to me like glue. it's part of me now, and i don't hate it. i learned to love it overtime because hearing the people i love call me that name made me happy.. do you want to know what my korean name was that made me hate it?"

sowon scoffed, showing a sign that she was listening, but she didn't know why he was telling her that he disliked his korean name so much.

"yongbok," felix stated, smiling brightly at the name because he felt proud of it. then he tapped his chest with his pointer finger. "and i only allow people i am close with to call me that, but you can call me that name too."

"so we're close now?" sowon snapped, lifting her head up at him. her eyes were sparkling in sweetness, but her voice came out sour which made him grimace a little. felix was used to people bitterly say useless things to him, but somehow sowon made him feel a bit guilty, and he didn't know why.

he stumbled on his words, flustered, "uh.. w-well if y-you don't mind..?"

sowon finally broke out into a grin, but it didn't reach the corner of her eyes. "okay. i don't mind, but yongbok, can i ask you something? and answer me truthfully."

felix nodded his head slowly, feeling unsure, "i mean, i guess, but it depends on what kind of question you're asking..." he didn't know if it related to areum and hyunjin, but maybe she could be asking him about something else. he then grinned, taking the shot. "alright. i will. tell me."

sowon pursed her lips, fighting back a gleeful smile, but inside she was torn. "why do people tear other people down?"

felix was left speechless. he wasn't expecting that kind of answer at all. he let out a small cough, sitting straight in his seat as he brought his hands in front of him, resting them on the table and fiddled with his thumbs.

"well.. let's see. people weren't born to be perfect, right?" felix muttered, glancing up at the girl to see her nod her head before looking back at his hands that were fidgeting nervously. "and if people see someone too too perfect for them, they want to take any imperfections they can find or possibly make something dumb up to bring them down. but why do you ask?"

sowon smiled. at first she didn't know who felix was. he was just the new guy in the group that she didn't know the name of, but getting to know him by sitting down and having a talk with him made her feel more connected to him. it was a weird feeling that was bubbling inside of her heart, but she felt ecstatic to feel it.

she shrugged. "just curious..."

and so they both spent the night chattering about odd things before it was time to part. sowon felt thankful and offered to pay for felix's ride home, but it was too kind for felix to accept. instead, he asked the two to exchange numbers, and sowon happily agreed.

maybe a new friendship had bloomed on the night of a new beginning for the two.
