Chapter Three
When we get home, Louis’ mum says she has to go home but demands that Lou has to call her as soon as he gets the call from the hospital. Louis agrees, rolling his eyes before hugging her. Then the boys decide they’re going to stay over. Louis rolls his eyes again but doesn’t say anything as he yawns. I wrap my arm around his waist and he leans on me heavily.
“Night Lou.” Niall says softly and Louis closes his eyes.
“Night, night boys.” He mumbles and the boys start heading to my old room and the guest room, though they’ll probably end up in the same bed by the end of the night. I lead Louis upstairs into our room.
“You okay, baby?” I ask as we walk into the room and Louis opens his eyes, looking even more tired then he has all day. Lou nods slowly before taking off his shirt but doesn’t bother to take off his pants before collapsing onto the bed, letting out a tired groan as he kicks off his shoes. I strip then climb into the bed next to Louis, who instantly curls into me, closing his eyes as I spread the blankets over us. He falls asleep almost instantly after that and I stroke his hair, not falling asleep as I stare at his peaceful face for probably an hour before I fall asleep.
Liam’s Perspective
I roll out from under Niall’s arm and pull my legs out from under Zayn but they don’t wake up. I roll my eyes before sliding out of bed quietly before heading out of Harry’s old room and towards the kitchen. I stop immediately as I hear the sound of vomiting coming from the bathroom. Concern fills me immediately as I hurry quietly towards the bathroom, opening the door cautiously where I see Louis hunched over the toilet, vomiting again.
“Oh Lou” I mumble before walking over to him and dropping to my knees, rubbing his back gently as he scrunches up his eyes. After a few more minutes, Louis stops and we both wait for about ten seconds before Louis lets out a shaky breath, opening his eyes. “Are you okay?” I ask softly and I stand up to grab a towel from the sink and wetting it. I wring it out then kneel back down and hold it to Lou’s forehead, hearing him sigh as soon as it touches his skin. He leans back so I’m holding him up as the hand that’s not holding the towel slips into his hand, squeezing it reassuringly before letting go.
“I feel like shit, Liam.” Louis whispers after about a minute, not moving in fear that he’ll throw up again. I want to say something but I have no idea what to say, knowing if I tell him that it’s going to be okay will me empty words seeing as I have no idea what’s wrong with him.
“Do you need anything? Water? Toothbrush? Harry?” I ask, feeling useless, wanting to do something more for my friend.
“C-can you stay here? P-please. Just until I c-can stand up again.” Louis asks softly, his voice shaking. I wipe his face with the towel before placing it down next to us, wrapping my arms around him.
“Course, Lou. I’m not going anywhere.” I agree instantly and he sighs, slumping against me, closing his eyes and leaning his head back onto my shoulder.
After a while, Louis’ breathing evens out and I know he’s fallen asleep. I carefully move, still holding him in sitting position as I stand up then lift him into my arms. I walk carefully, carrying him into the lounge room and placing him on the couch, grabbing a blanket and spreading it over him, trying not to wake him. I then sit down on the floor, resting my head near the end of the couch where Lou’s feet are and closing my eyes before slowly drifting off into sleep.
Harry’s Perspective
When I open my eyes, I instantly moan as I roll over, reaching for Louis’ body but when I find nothing but the cold sheet, the covers been roughly thrown on top of me. I sit up slowly, rubbing my face and frowning. Where is he?
That’s when I remember yesterday and how Louis passed out. Maybe he was sick again. I bolt out of bed, grabbing a pair of boxers and pulling them on before stepping outside of the bedroom and going to the bathroom. After seeing he’s not there, I head towards the lounge room where I hear Niall and Zayn talking.
I walk in then stop as I spot Louis on the couch, his hand dangling off the side and his eyes closed, breathing evenly with Liam sitting on the floor at his feet, both of them asleep. A flashing light brings my attention away from my boyfriend and my friend as I notice Niall holding a camera and Zayn taking photos with his phone.
“Hey Haz” Niall says softly and I frown, nodding towards Lou and Liam.
“Why are they there?” I ask and he shrugs.
“We woke up and Li was missing then we found them here. Lou must have been sick over night and Li must have heard him or something.” Niall replies and I bite my lip, not liking the fact Lou was sick again and I wasn’t there to look after him. What type of boyfriend am I? I haven’t been looking after him at all. I didn’t even know he was sick until he passed out and I didn’t even wake up when he was sick in the middle of the night.
As if hearing my thoughts, Zayn comes over to me and wraps his arm around my shoulders before pulling me into the kitchen.
“It’s not your fault. You’re a wonderful boyfriend- Louis is just really good at hiding stuff.” Zayn says and I sigh heavily. The last part is true; Louis is very good at hiding how he really feels. It’s quite frustrating because if anything bad happens, I don’t know about it until it’s too late and I can’t help him. He can block people out and shut down any one who tries to help him without the person even realising until ten minutes after they’ve finished their conversation.
“But I should have known something was wrong.” I murmur and Zayn’s arm tightens around my shoulders.
“It is not your fault so stop being a prick and make Niall and I breakfast. Louis’ going to be fine- the doctor told him that he’s not going to die so that means he doesn’t have cancer or something. We have nothing to worry about. The blood tests come back today then they’ll probably just give Lou some meds and he’ll be back to normal in no time.” Zayn says and Niall nods in agreement.
“He’ll be fine, Hazza.” Niall adds and I sigh. “Now, I want breakfast.” I roll my eyes before heading towards the fridge to make Niall and Zayn their breakfast.
