Deceit

"The punisher was made for the gods. The creator, the only existence in the world who can create all things imaginable created a creature so powerful it could rival the gods. It is believed that this creature is made to act as a mediating factor so humans and gods can live in harmony and so that neither side causes the other to insight chaos should both overlaps. She was given one task alone, to safeguard the world from all evil. However, the gods do not favor this creature for it is a threat to the supremacy of the gods.

One day, Zeus wanted to challenge it and went home sulking in his throne room. He spoke nothing of their meeting, nor the ensuing battle that followed, but we knew he was defeated without a fight. It was humiliating, but no one dared speak of it or beget themselves to the king of the god's fury. This is where its title came from. The Punisher of the Gods."

"And then?"

"No one actually saw it before. Not even Zeus. And that's the most humiliating part, Zeus was defeated without even seeing its face."

Napaikot ang mata ko. Kanina niya pa pinapaulit-ulit na napahiya si Zeus sa nangyari, medyo nakakahalata na ako talaga.

Hades' amused face showed again as he relished in his storytelling, obviously so proud of himself.

"During the attack, that creature actually showed itself. It wore garbs like that of people in mourning, grey and lifeless. Only when the creature and the Titan Oceanus collided, the spray of sea wind blew away the garb on its head and revealed a beauty incomparable even Aphrodite can only kneel in front of it. It was another jab on Zeus' ego to realize he's been defeated by a woman. HA HA HA."

At hindi na nga niya napigilang matawa. The ridicule in his voice was dripping, almost like the true reason why he even agreed to tell this story to me is to ridicule Zeus to this extent.

He continued. "The thing is, this creature's eyes are exceptionally golden. Unlike that Apollo's that shined with a thin sheen of golden light, this one was brighter than the sun, and it bored the sigil of time. If the Titan Lord of Time, Cronus were to fight her, he won't even stand a chance even if he looped time over and over again. We found out at that battle that this creature holds dominion over everything, time, power, beauty, everything.

However, she wasn't alone. At that same time, an enemy with the same bearing as her suddenly appeared. This one didn't wear a cloak that hid its face, its face was bare for everyone to see. From her head to her toes, she wore nothing but a thin piece of cloth that covered her... extremities." Hades made a disgusted face.

"She was... unpleasant to the eyes. The direct opposite of that beauty. She had pale dead skin, like a rotting corpse, and her eyes were pure white. So pure it reflects everything it sees, like a mirror."

How can someone have white eyes?

"The gods knew this was an enemy, but they didn't know where it came from. What's more shocking is that it looks exactly like her, save for the ugly marks that littered through its body, like... curse bands or something. It seems to be alive as it snaked around her, spreading and beating like it had a heart of its own. Disgusting."

Oo nga. Iniimagine ko palang nandidiri na ako.

"That thing moved so fast, like lightning, and revealing a weapon that resembled a scythe, she slashed on a goddess and before anyone could help her, the creature, the punisher, moved so swiftly no one noticed it and blocked that slash using her own hand. After that, they just vanished, out of thin air, as if they were never there."

"And who was that goddess?"

"Athena."

I nodded, feeling a little satisfied. "And then?"
