The bright lights of the store were blindening as Julie slowly opened her eyes. Immediately after, she felt herself being captive in a strong embrace.

Her head tiredly moved up to find a man with a black mask covering the bottom part of his face, while his hood covered most of his eyes. It was a real wonder how he could see with all that covering his face.

Her thoughts were slow but in a minute she realised what was happening. She's getting kidnapped!

She screeched, causing the man to flinch at the loud sound erupting from the tiny four year old. "Mama! Dada! Help me!"

"Wait- kid-"

"Wah~" she cried, causing the other people walking besides them to shoot the male a suspicious look. "Ai bant mama!" (I want mama) she cried with tears and snot running down her face.

"What's happening here?" A woman, whose voice felt quite familiar to Julie, spoke as she rushed out from an aisle, and took Julie from the man's arms. "Baby, why are you crying?"

She wiped the younger's face with a handkerchief and only then was when Julie could finally take in the appearance of the lady. "Aunt Jang-jang?" Julie called, causing the older woman to let out a sweet smile.

"Yes darling, it's me." Jangmi patted Julie's back as her sobs had now turned into sniffles. "Did you forget you were spending the day with us?"

That was when it all came crashing down in the girl's tiny head. Her mama had to go for an important meeting and her dada had to go for a photoshoot - perks of being the daughter of an aerospace engineer and a full-time model. Her mom had told her that she'd have to spend the day with her aunt, who was planning to go shopping at the mall.

So then that would mean that the man who held her was non other than her uncle Jinnie.

"Gosh, she made me look like a kidnapper." Jin scratched his neck as he sheepishly hid behind his girlfriend - now fiancée - and looked at Julie. "You tiny child with such power. No wonder you are Jimin's child."

Julie only hid her head in her aunt's neck, as she was still not used to seeing jin in his
all-black clothing. "Well it was your fault for not keeping her in her stroller when I told you to. And take off that ridiculous hood and mask, for gods sake!" Jangmi exclaimed while she placed the young girl in her cubby. The younger only clapping her hands in amusement when she saw the older two bickering.

"Yeah? You like it when I get scolded at, hm?" Jin came down closer to her - now without the mask so that his face was visible - and started tickling her. Julie let out loud sounds of delight and jangmi only watched from afar.

"Come on you two. We have to go to the food court, your mama's waiting for us over there." Jangmi headed towards the billing counter while jin pushed Julie's cubby.

"Jinnie?" Julie called.

"Yes, darling?"

"Can I also get a ring?" She asked after remembering how Jin had put a ring on her aunt's finger last week when they all were out for a family dinner. Julie also remembered how her father would often play with the diamond ring on her mother's finger when the two of them would place their hands over her tummy whilst they slept.

Jin realised how the younger girl came up with the question and chuckled. "Sorry, baby. But that ring will be given to you by someone you like."

"But I like you?" She asked, craning her neck up to look at the taller male. She had to admit, her uncles were quite taller than her father, but she still loved her father the most.

"That's not how that works!" Jin chuckled once again, before unbuckling Julie from her seat and carrying her on his left arm. "You see, your dada gave your mama a ring because they love each other. And I gave a ring to your aunt because we love each other too. But for you to get a ring...you need to find someone you love with all your heart."

Julie only bobbed her head, her pigtails bouncing with her. "So will dada gimme a ring? I love dada and he love me!"

The male could only sigh in defeat. How was he supposed to tell the girl that she needed to find a lover. Well, she was too young to understand it, anyway.

"If my kitty wants a ring, then she'll get one. That too, from me!" The duo heard a raspy voice call from somewhere followed by a string of coughs.

"Jimin, don't yell. You have a sore throat!" Julie recognised that voice and immediately wiggled out of Jin's grasp and ran towards the couple standing near the exit.

"Mama! Dada!"

Jimin picked the girl up before showering her face with kisses. "I'm sorry that dada had to leave you alone." He said before kissing her cheeks once again.

"Did you forget about us?" Jangmi called out as she stood besides Jin with two full grocery bags, catching Jihwan's attention.

"Not at all. Thank you so much for looking after Julie for
today, sis." She sincerely thanked before looking over to the father-daughter duo besides her. "What was this ring talk anyway?"

"Ah, that would be my fault." Jin spoke as he smiled sheepishly. "She may or may not have been intrigued by the proposal I did last week."

"Oh baby!" Jihwan cooed, taking Julie from Jimin's arms. "So you wanted a ring too?" And the girl only nodded innocently in response.

"Uncle Jinnie said that I can get a ring from someone I love, and I love all of you." She suddenly gasped in the arms of her mother. "Can I get a ring from all of you?"

The adults all laughed at the pure mind of the child before them.

And that was the day when Julie's uncle Jinnie made her look forward to finding her own lover.

But it also resulted in her father spending almost a fortune to get his precious daughter a diamond ring. And of course Jihwan had to drag her husband out the mall.
