Huffing, I placed my bag on the nearby desk."Hey." I heard a voice.
Looking around, I saw jungkook sitting in the corner with a telescope in hand, waving me closer.
"What is it?"
"You really need to check this out!" He exclaimed, pointing at the telescope and then outside the window. It had become quite dark outside, a result of having late scheduled classes.
I went closer and bent down, placing my eye near the small hole to see a miriade of stars scattered all across my vision.
Silently gasping, I gently held the telescope, my eyes still taking in the breathtaking view.
"Woah! How come we never see this normally?" I asked, my full attention on the little star that shone brightest amongst all the others.
"Pollution. We live in a city, so its impossible to look at the stars at night with the naked eye." I heard the voice of jungkook speak.
"Wow. I wish I could see this everyday!"
"Yeah, me too." I heard his voice come quite close to my right ear, his breath almost hitting the side of my face.
I instantly shot up, staring at a red cheeked jungkook scratching his nose.
And after about a minute of awkward silence, I offered a suggestion. "H-how about we set up the booth?"
"Y-yeah, sure."
And with that the two of us took the stuff outside on the field.
Setting up the booth posed a problem for the two of us as we were the only two diligent students who were actively taking part in the astronomy club.
But all that changed once I heard a familiar voice call out my name.
I turned back to see Hoseok and Taehyung making their way towards the unfinished booth.
"Hey, we're here to help you guys." Hoseok said, his signature smile on his face.
"Thanks a lot guys, we really needed the extra hands." Jungkook said once he climbed down from the ladder after putting up the final touches on the front banner.
"So how about you guys start with the outside of the booth while Hoseok and I set up the inside?" I suggested, looking at taehyung with a smile.
"Sure."
And with that we all began working.
Inside, we had red curtains covering the walls of the booth, an open roof to stargaze and of course, a couple of telescopes set up to watch the stars.
I continued working on the second banner that we were going to put up outside the school, inviting the guests to our booth.
Painting silently, I wasn't aware that Jungkook had come and stood beside me.
"That looks great!"
I looked up, welcomed by his cute bunny smile that stretched one of my own.
"Thanks." I turned my head to look around. "Where's Hoseok?"
"Oh, he said he offered to help on the banner outside, so..."
Nodding in understanding, I continued to paint little stars across the canvas of blues, blacks and purples.
I felt Jungkook sit besides me. Thinking of it as nothing, I didn't acknowledge it and continued my work.
"You know, you remind me of this one person I knew back in middle school."
That caused my hand to cease its movement.
"She was honestly really pretty. I remember how I had lent her a hairpin when she struggled to tie her hair up during this one drama act. Funny how you have the same hairpin." He poked the hairclip that was clipped on a little twirl of hair on the side of my head.
I slowly turned my head to face him, seeing how he already had a smirk on his face. "You're Hwannie, aren't you?"
And that was the first time since my last night on the roof...
...that I felt my heart skip a beat for someone who wasn't you.
