It had been almost a week since the last time we sat on the roof together. That whole week, you had decided to accompany me on the roof.Maybe because you thought I really was suicidal.
But this whole week, I didn't see you.
Even if you lived just around the block, I didn't see you.
I thought you would've been weirded out, or maybe even bored by me. And just before my brain started overthinking, I shut it.
So now here I was, in the supermarket. Doing my night shift for the first time ever. To try and distract myself from the thoughts of you.
I was lucky that there were no customers, but only a few drunk people who maybe wandered here. But they didn't cause me any trouble, which I was most grateful for.
And when the clock had finally struck midnight, I felt a pang in my chest...
...when I saw that familiar mop of blonde hair make its way inside the supermarket.
