Chapter 8

The air chilled around us and I shivered.
"Oh,... okay."
Michael looked at me, Sam grabbed my hand and Rico just stood behind me.
I looked to the General. "Sir, may we please proceed with our journey."
He nodded. He and his troops marched forward while we shuffled behind. We approached a big shiny castle, that reminded me of Thor's palace in Asgard, just it was silver.
I looked around me and saw the sky full of stars.
" Wow. "
It's amazing. Wish home was like this.
I looked over to Michael,"Me too." He smiled, "Well I guess this is our home now."
I nod and look ahead as we entered the castle in front of me.
I will still miss Earth though.
"Miss Kline, the Star Empire influenced most of the things on earth." I looked up and saw an woman who looked fifty but probably was really old with white hair, pale hazel yellow eyes, a red dress hanging loosely on her small figure and a golden crown on her head. The Knights bowed and the rest of us followed the example. I look up toward her, "You the one who speaks in my mind. Thank you for the rescue Miss...?"
"I am Queen Georgia of the Star Empire. And it is my pleasure for rescuing you. You listen well." She said as she stood up and walked down the steps towards us. "You must be Michael?" She smiled. Michael nodded, "Yes your highness.
Why didn't I get a smile? She turned and looked at me.
" Well, the reason is because I am not fond of your family, Miss Kline. I disliked your father the most. He didn't know his place but became one of thee best Knights in the galaxy. So it is my duty to let you follow in his and your mother's footsteps. Now may you please excuse me, I have a important conference to attend to. I shall see you in the morning, individually. "
We bowed again as she left the thrown room.
" And we didn't get any greeting at all. " Rico growled.
" The queen has her reasons. Now we will be off again to the Star Knights academy to get you settle down."

Star Knights academy and base were on the neighboring planet, Blugensal. The planet where we were now was called Ething . Ething and Blugensal were neighboring planets about 500 miles apart.
" Wow that's not far they are like twins." Sam said after Captain Beck gave a lecture about the planets and the Empire.
"So both planets are about half the size of earth. So if you put them together they would be the same size of the earth?"
Captain Beck nodded, "100% the same."
I looked at the two planets.
Ething looked a bit like earth with green places surrounded with blue but had a ring around it like Saturn's. Blugensal was just like Earth. But with different continents.

"Name?"
"Calico Kline." I answered the lady at the front desk of the academy's reception. She handed me a bracelet.
"This is your identification. You will need it to enter your room and other places. Some places are forbidden and won't alow you in. Got it?"
I nodded at the lilac skinned lady.
"Next!" She screached. Michael walked up, gave his name and got a bracelet.
Sam went next.
"Are you a human?"
"Yes." He answered, "And Rico over there."
She nodded. Now I have more problems to deal with. Can't these Knights do this themselves.
I rolled my eyes. Sure, keep whining. It won't make a difference.
She sighed, "You will have to wait. You haven't been registered, but I presume you are with these two?"
"Yes." I responded.
She pulled up a hologram and swiped through the stuff and typed data in.
She looked at me and turned to her assistant, "You! Please show these two their room."
Sam and Rico turned to the lady, "Their room?!"
She raised an eyebrow, "Yes. There can be no changes. Now can you two please follow me and you-" she pointed to Michael and I, "follow my assistant. He will show you to your room."

He didn't just show us to our rooms he gave us a whole tour of the academy.

"... and here is your room."
I looked at the closed door.
"How does it open? It has no door nob."
"OHHHH. I forgot about that." he said, "You have to put your arm under the scanner here-" he pointed to the a circle. He tapped it and a weird silver cylinder popped out the wall.
"Try it!" He smiled. I walked over to the scanner and put my right hand with the namination looking bracelet underneath. It beeped and the door slid open.
"Cool." I said and smiled as I entered the room. It had a lounge with grey sofas, coffee table and a plain white wall in front.
There must be a hologram or something for that wall.
Behind the lounge there was a kitchen with a roof to floor window across the back of the room. There was just a counter, four chairs and cupboards. I opened the double doors of the big white cupboard.
"Whoa, it's a fridge and freezer." I said.
"What, no way!" Michael said looking from behind.
"Everything is what you need is here and resupplies once a week itself. So you won't really have to go out and get everything you need. Unless you run out of stock." The assistant said. I looked at the eggs inside the fridge copboard. "But how do you cook everything?"
The assistant walked to the counter and said to Michael, "Come here." We walked over and the assistant lifted Michael's arm and tapped the bracelet. A hologram popped up and he tapped a house icon. "So you will tap here and find all that you need to activate the apartments tech  and other services. Like over here. " he tapped the spatula icon, "This is for the kitchen appliances. So when you tap the stove..." he tapped it and out appeared a stove on the counter.
I smiled, "That's so cool!"
"Well I will let you find your way around the commands. One last thing is that the rooms have attached bathrooms. So you have your own room and bathroom. There is a code of conduct and times on your Bands. Enjoy!" he ended off and walked out of our apartment.

I turn in a full circle," This is literally an apartment."
"So you are going to stay with me, a person you don't know AT ALL. And you are okay with that?" Michael says to me.
I nod, "Well, yes. I trust you. Just remember I can read minds so I know who I can trust, and I don't trust easily."
I walked out the kitchen and approached a door WITH a handle, and opened it. I found myself in a room toned with greys and whites. I walked in and looked around. The far wall was a full window showing the beautiful garden and sky full of stars. The sky was different to earth. You could see Ething and there were different shades of dark blue with a few light blue streaks in the sky. I glanced at the bathroom door, luckily having a handle, and went in. Quite simple really. Had a shower, bath basin and toilet. There was a mirror above the basin. The mirror was a square, equal sides of about a meter long.
Michael entered and leaned on the door frame," Do we know which room belongs to who?"
I look at him and shake my head, "Have you checked the other one yet?" He said no. We walked to the other room that was opposite and entered. They were both exactly the same.
"Hmm..." I stood and thought. I walked towards the cupboards and draws. I opened the cupboard to reveal men's tops.
"Well this is your room I guess." I said and closed them. He nodded and looked around,"It seems so dull."
I nodded, "Yes. It does."
I tapped my nomination bracelet that the assistant called a Band. I looked at all the icons that popped up and tapped the bed icon. Michael standing and watching, I tapped the heading that said room colour. I scrolled slowly through the list and then clicked on the word bedding, and out popped a coulor wheel. I made the main coulor blue and the other two coulors black and grey. I pressed done. I looked around the room and nothing happened.
"What happened?" Michael asked.
"I am not sure. Wait..." I walked out of HIS room to my room and opened the door. I smiled, "It worked!"
My bed's pillows were black, and the cover was baby blue with a grey stripe at the bottom. My walls were still white and the furniture the same aswell.
Michael walked in, "Wow. I like the black."
I rolled my eyes, Sure you do.
I wonder now what your closet looks like. There should be some red and black in it.
I walked into my bathroom and saw that black towels had popped up on a towel rack next to the shower.

I turn and look at Michael.

" It's your turn now!"
