Chapter 12

I opened up the letter. I laughed, "The way he writes on paper when he had this kind of technology and could have done a holo-recording of himself." I looked at Michael and opened up the letter.

Coco. I have been on a mission to stop the Dark Empire's highest ranked Knight. His name is Sir Black, and is trying to take over the universe. He has his spies everywhere, even at the base. Be careful and trust the ones you can trust. I am leaving to go on a mission today, so if I don't come back, you have to take over the mission. I hope you are the one reading this because I can only trust you. Protect the gift, because it's the key to the Dark Empires victory.

I look up at Michael.
"Let's check for other things."
He nods and goes to one of the book shelves and checks out the books. I go to my father's desk and open up the draws.

I shuffled through all his information, finding a few things I know I should not ask him.

I put the papers back into the draw and moved to the next one. I found a series of weapons and a case with a microchip in. I placed it on my Band and carried on looking. I found many microchips so i decided to put them on my Band and see what they are later.

"Kai."

I looked up at Michael, Did he call me Kai?

"Yes?" I answered.

"Are you reading my thoughts and memories?" he turned and walked over to me. He set his fist ablaze with glowing energy and set it close under my chin.

I gulped. I didn't know what to do. He looked strait into my eyes.

"Calico?" he muttered.

I smiled, "I trust you."

He smiled and took his fist away from my face.
"I was testing you, as if I would ever break your trust."

"Don't get ahead of yourself Ladybug." I said and patted his shoulder. I was just passing his side when he grabbed my wrist. "I will never betray your trust. Never."
He looked at me dead straight into my eyes.
I nod, "OK, but never say never Ladybug. I will kill you if you betray my trust."
He smiled and let go of my wrist. He held out his hand and handed me a black Band.
"Found this in a secret draw in the desk. But let's come back later, we don't want to miss any classes."

"Now men and women. We will progress with combat. We shall continue from where we ended from the previous class, now get into your suits and start training."

That was Marshal Yearling. I walked over to him with Michael nexted to me.
"Ah, Kline what can I do for you?" Marshal Yearling asked.
I shook his hand firmly and stepped back into a soldier stance, "Well sir, my fellow knight here and I have not done any training while we were on earth. We were not sure how to progress into the class, sir."
The Marshal looked to me then to Michael. "You must be Michael Drew Heart am I correct?"
"Yes sir." Michael nodded.
I chuckled under my breath.

Drew, huh?
Quit it Tails.

I looked at him and smirked.
I turned my attention back to the Marshal.
"Well you two and the two earthlings will have to come to extra classes after your lessons. You two can start learning how to control your positions and stances while you in space, so you can go to the anti-gravity simulator there on the end."
He solutes and walks off.
I look at Michael and shrug then walk over to the simulator. It was a big tube like those sky diving tubes you can go in. I tapped the on button and jumped through the doorway into the tube. I immediately turned upside down and laughed. "Come on Ladybug, you missing out."
He smiled and shook his head and jumped in. He floated around like he had done this before. He turned me back around.
"You really bad at this."
I roll my eyes, "Yeah sure, unlike some people."

"I am just naturally amazing at everything." he chirped.
I scoff, "As if."
He smiled at me, "Want to bet, Tails?"
I smirked, "Your on! Whoever win get forty stars."
He flipped around and went higher up.
"How are you going to give me stars?"
I rolled my eyes, "Michael, it's the Star Empire's currency, like England has Pounds."
He nods, "I knew that."

"Sure you did."

"So how's the tail?" Rico asked. We were at the lake near our rooms late afternoon after our classes.

"It's good, actually really helpful. I can do so many things with it and have any tail for any occasion." I said floating in the water with Rico while the other four were at the shore.
" That is so cool, wish I could have something like that."
I laughed, "Well it really gets in the way most of the time."
He smiled and looked over at the others. "They should come join us."
I nodded and swam back to the shore.

"Don't you guys want to join us? It's nice and refreshing." I said.
No thanks.
Skyler shook her head, Sam said he will stay with them and Michael...

He picked me up, through me over his shoulder then tossed me in the water by the dock.
I came up gasping.

"Michael!"
"What's wrong Tails? The water not nice anymore?" he smirked.
I rolled my eyes and went under water. And stayed there. I didn't come up.

"Tails? TAILS!? CALICO!"
Tails where are you? Come up you stupid!
 
Then I watched as the water broke above me.

"HI" I said and waved.
His face was priceless. He swam back up to the surface and I followed him.

"I though you drowned! Calico don't you ever do that again!" he shouted at me.

"See the water is nice." I smiled cheekily. He rolled his eyes. Rico swam over to us and looked down into the water.

"You look like a mermaid mixed with a koi fish." he laughed.
I rolled my eyes and pushed him under.

"Fish face." Michael grumpily mumbled.
"Fly boy." I responded.
"Space monkey."
"Heater."
"So you think I am hot?" He smirked.
I scold, "In your dreams, Ladybug."

"They don't need to be mine. They are already yours.... Tails." he scoffed then chuckled.
I sprayed water at him.
"You a terrible flirt." he said.
I didn't comment.
Rico came back up.

"Guys it's so amazing under water. Take a look."

We dove under and were invited by the glowing aquatic life.
"Wow." I said.
I had realised I could breath under water after changing in the swimming pool earlier.

Amazing. Michael thought.
Then a figure swam towards us. The guy was quite blue and had scales but had the same shape body has mine I had at the moment.

" Please follow me, Calico. We need to talk." he gurgled.

"How do you know me?" I asked.

"Your father said you would one day come. But not only that, our leader had detected your mind in our realm. But please follow me, we need to hurry. But I dought your friends can hold their breath very long."

I looked over to Michael and Rico. Michael shook his head in disagreement.
I will be right back. Will call you if I need anything.

He nodded and him and Rico swam to the surface.

" Okay. Lead the way. " I said.

" Of course Calico. I shall guide you through the safest passage and be your protection. I am Finley Wade the fith, son of Finley Wade the Forth."

I nodded, "Nice to meet you Finley. Now let's go find your leader."
He swam the way ahead and I followed, with great difficulty behind him.

I should practice more with a fish tail.
