When I Looked Into Your Eyes (Jughead X Archie) (Jarchie)

Coming Out Pt. 3

"WHAT?" Everyone shouted. Thank god the shop was empty or they would've gotten some very strange looks.

"And to think you were worried about how they would feel about us" Archie teased

Jughead blushed, "Shut up you. You were worried too and you know it!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Archie responded teasingly

"I TOLD YOU! You owe me $50!" Veronica shouted to Betty

"Okay, okay, I get it." Betty said, blushing

"Told her what?" Archie asked with a raised eyebrow

"Ronnie and I made a bet on whether or not you guys would finally get together. It's kinda obvious who bet what would happen." Betty said

Jughead and Archie looked at each other. Had they really been that oblivious?

"YES!" Ronnie yelled, exasperated, "YOU HAVE BEEN MAKING GOO-GOO EYES AT EACH OTHER SINCE THE DAY I MET THE TWO OF YOU!"

"Okay first of all, I don't do 'Goo-goo eyes'," Jughead said, rolling his eyes, "Second of all, how did you answer that when neither of us actually asked it?"

"It was written all over your faces," She said with a laugh

Archie's blush deepened as Ronnie and Betty teased them. Once they had finally finished their food and were almost done with their milkshakes, everyone was just about ready to leave. However, there was still a question that Archie wanted to ask.

"Hey Betty?" Archie asked

"Yeah Arch?" Betty responded

"So, how did you and Ronnie get together?" Archie asked curiously

Veronica smirked, "Cheerleading tryouts. Cheryl said that she wanted, and I quote, 'heat and sizzle'. So, naturally, I gave it to her. Well, we gave it to her."

Betty blushed, "I couldn't stop thinking about it. I even started to avoid her to try to make the feelings go away."

Jughead looked at Archie. They both understood what that felt like. The confusion that came with trying to sort out the feelings and the hurt that came with being avoided.

"Anyway," V continued, "After a week I finally got tired of being avoided. I went up to Betty, pulled her into an empty classroom, and demanded to know what I had done wrong."

"I told her that she hadn't done anything wrong," B continued, "I just didn't want to scare her with these feelings that I was having."

"Obviously something was wrong," V said, not missing a beat, "If I hadn't done anything then why was she avoiding me?"

Betty looked down at her hands, "I told her that it wasn't anything that she needed to worry about and-"

"And I told her that it was a load of crap and that she needed to tell me what was wrong so that I could fix it." Ronnie interrupted

Betty rolled her eyes. "I told her that there was nothing to fix. And then I told her that I was fine again"

"So I got super close to her and told her that I wanted to fix whatever was making her so uncomfortable. I started talking about how we're best friends and how I would do anything for her and then....." V trailed off

"And then? And then what?" Archie asked

Betty blushed, "And then I kissed her."

"And she tried to run after seeing that I hadn't responded. Apparently Betty didn't know that it takes a couple of seconds for the shock to wear off so that the other person can kiss back." Ronnie said with a smirk

Archie smirked at Jughead "Jughead didn't know either. If it hadn't been for my quick reflexes, he would be who knows where right now and the both of us would be a hot mess."

Jughead looked down at his lap. He felt embarrassed and kind of ashamed for reacting the way he did. Archie noticed this and placed his hand under Jughead's chin, lifting it to meet his eyes.

"Jughead, it's okay." Archie said comfortingly, "It doesn't matter that you ran because no matter what, I will always be there to catch you."

Jughead smiled and leaned into Archie so that he was resting his head on his shoulder. They both forgot about Beronica until they heard Ronnie say that she would do the same for Betty. Both couples stared at their significant others, finally happy for once. They had not a trouble in the world.

Well.... except for the fact that Kevin just walked in and was now sitting across from them. (Not that they knew that)
