Area Zero : Volume I

Chapter 4 : A Challenge to Area Zero

Gon and Jack are walking down a corridor.

Gon: Well, Jack. This is where you'll be staying from now on. It's well secured and very comfortable.

He opens a door to a room.

“Here is your room.”

Jack sees two bed. It's a small room but it's well cleaned and smells very fresh. The bed smells of new wood.

Jack: so I'll have a roommate I see.

Gon: yes. He is on a vacation now. But soon you'll meet him. And it's good that he is your age too. So if you are interested in men as well you can….

Jack: stop right there perv. I don't even wanna hear what you're going to say.

Gon: well in that case I must have a talk with Natalia if she wants to share the room with you.

Jack slams the door on Gon's face.

Gon: there you go again. Ahh! I miss my young days.

He walks away.

Jack: this place is actually good. I hope my roommate is not a psycho.

He lies down on the bed.

“I'm so exhausted. I should better get some sleep.”

As Gon walks down the hallway which is now almost empty. Catherine is cleaning the tables and some men are cleaning the stage.

Gon takes a deep breath and sits on a chair. As soon as he sits, there is a big explosion behind him. Gon is scared to death!

Gon stands up and hides Catherine behind him.

The smoke slowly fades away with a voice “it's been a long time, dear Gon!”

The smoke fades away and it's a tall man with a long overcoat. He has a pointed nose and kind of looks like a vampire.

Gon: Victor..

Victor: oh so finally you remember your old friend.

Gon: why are you here?

Victor: so informal. That was rude Gon. Anyways, don't worry, I'm here to have a private chat with you. I mean no harm to this place.

Gon: you already trashed my stage.

Victor: ooops sorry! I like doing that in my entry. Looks cool, doesn't it?

Gon and Victor sits in the main office. Victor takes a sip of tea and relaxes.

Gon: now tell me. What business do you have here?

Victor: don't be so hasty, Gon. You know I would come back sooner or later.

Gon: what happened to your association?

Victor: ohh! They are all fine. Or I may say..better than Area Zero has ever been.

Gon gets angry but holds it inside.

Victor sees a photo frame hanging on the wall.

Victor: OMG! That picture. It surely brings back memories!

He walks up to it and holds it in his hand.

Gon: well of course you need to remember. He is the one who gave your ass the beating of a lifetime.

Victor gets angry and squeezes the photo. But controls his anger and smiles again.

Victor keeps the frame in its place and turns back. He walks up to the sofa and takes a sit.
