It was a big house although I would be living in it alone.
"Why so big?", I asked.
" Well we thought you would bring your siblings ", Captain Ren said.
" They all died by sacrifice. I'll make due with what I was given ", I said.
" Do you need anything else?", he asked.
"No", I said walking into the house.
It was a dark house. Dark colors. The kitchen was stoked with food and there was a library full of books. There was rooms with at least 4 beds in each. The master bedroom was huge. The bed was soft and there was clothes in the closet. I would have to make them a little smaller though. Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. I went down stairs and opened the door. There was people a lot of them. It made me nervous I thought they would attack me but instead they brought baked goods and smiles.
"Hi we are citizens of this little town. We wanted to thank you for coming to help us in the war!", a young woman said giving me some bread.
" Um yeah thanks", as I said that they rushed to give me more food.
It felt like I would never run out of food with all of what they gave me. It was quite surprising. People believe I will help them. I am nothing but a girl. I have no special powers! I started to eat the bread it was nice and warm. Usually at Angelpost we had soup and fruits. It was rare we had bread. I guess it was because there was a lot of us. My training would tomorrow. Who will I train with? Well they don't know my skill so they probably won't put me with the big guys. I walked up to my room and fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning to the sound of birds. They were bright red and played with each other. I put on the same black skirt and white button up. My shoes were just some black boots given to me. They had long laces that tied up to the top. I had to go back to the building at sun set. I walked around town seeing all the places. There was a small market place with lots of clothes, jewelry, and much more. The people were kind and very sweet. As I was walking around I ran into a small black house on the end of town. There was an old lady I could see through the window. She suddenly look at me and motioned me to come in. I walked in slowly; it was cold.
"So your Anora Butler?", the lady asked.
" Yes", I said.
"You know your the second person to escape that place. ", she said making some tea.
" Who else?", I asked.
"Me. It was a long time ago before you were born. It was when your mother came into our city. She was a charmer and made everything different. Soon she made us to sacrifice. I was the first to be sacrificed and some how I survived.", she said pouring tea into a cup.
"What did they do?", I asked.
" They burned my eyes and stabbed me in the shoulder. They were supposed to hit me in the heart", she said giving me a cup, "is it better or worse now?"
"Much worse", I said, " They killed all 8 of my siblings".
"No one likes me in the town", she replied.
" Why?", I asked.
"I'm scary", she answered.
" Not to me", I said smiling.
"Well it is not just my looks. I'm a demon. They know I am", she said looking down.
"And I'm not scared of demons", I said standing up tall.
" Everyone else it. That's why they are happy your here", she said.
I looked out the window to see that the sun was about to go down and said, "I have to leave I have training".
" Come back tomorrow. I want to show you something ", she said as I left.
