The Girl with the Gun 2

Arrival

It was dark when we arrived to Seph. They had very tall lamps and there was no trees. The town was silent there was no sound of animals. This was very new to me nothing I have ever seen. But I have read book about towns like this.
"Have you ever been to a place like this?", North asked.
" No but I've read a lot about these types of places", I said looking out the window.
"What have you learned?" Ren asked seeming more serious than usual.
"Well they have a lot of drama and sickness but they have a lot of trade and wealth", I said, " Very busy".
Ren nodded his head and North said, "that's good information", North said.

" How old are y'all?", I asked looking at them.
"I'm 47 and Ren is 18", North said smiling.
" So you can become a captain at 18?", I asked.
"No Ren just worked really hard. ", North said as I nodded and looked out the window. Ren had his hands behind his head leaning back while North sat very proper.
" I over heard y'all talkin' bout a test I had to pass. What test?", I asked.
"You'll find out when you get there now, stop asking questions", Ren said rudely.
I was quite surprised on the way he acted. There seemed to be two sides to him. One kind the other rude not uncommon but I just saw his rude side.
" You have no reason to have an attitude towards at least me. So you can stop", I said giving the same level of rudeness he gave me.
"Calm down both of you", North said looking worried.
It was quiet the rest of the way. So when we came to a big building North broke the silence.
" We are at the castle ", North said.
I stayed silent although I ahead many questions in my brain. I was tired from the long ride. I guess that's why Ren was acting the way he was. We got off the carriage one by one. There was armored guards at this big gate. North was talking to one of them and we were soon let in. We came into this castle and it was white and gold. Very bright! I've never seen anything like this. I was in shock about how we were here. A woman walked towards us.
" Nice to meet you all! I'm the head maid. I will show you all to your rooms", she said with a bright face.
We walked up stairs until we came to a beautiful hallway. We all had separate rooms.
"Anora this is my personal favorite I hope you like it", the maid said smiling.
" Thank you very much", I said kindly but with no smile.
I walked in and saw a giant bed and balcony. Bright candles and marble floors! I went and sat on the bed which was very soft. Then, I began to get ready to bed putting on a night dress. Suddenly, I heard a knock at my door. I thought it would be the maid but it was Ren. I looked at him for a second then closed to door. Before it closed he caught it.
"North said I have to talk with you", he said.
"What?", I asked sounding annoyed.
" Do you want to know why I am acting this way?", he said looking down at me.
"Sure why not", I said rolling my eyes.
" I don't like this place. My family is horrible and this bring back memories ", he said shamefully.
" Just don't be rude towards me cause of it and we'll be fine", I said looking away.
"Also we have to go to a party tomorrow afternoon. So please be prepared.", he said.
"Okay", I said looking at him.
" Goodnight ", he smiled.
" Night", I said giving a fake smile.
He laughed and walked off. I closed to door and threw myself on my bed. Party? Never been to one. Great!
