Expectations

This is it. I finally did it.

Marinette thought as she stared at the dead body that lay in front of her. She had finally demolished one of her most hated enemies; Lila Rossi. She tilted her head and studied the lifeless creature. She laid on her chest with blood gushing from her back; the killer only stabbed her once because she knew that it would result in a very slow and painful death, leaving the victim unable to even breath; much less call for help.

Lila Rossi is now no more

She declared, silently. A chuckle escaped her lips as her teenage memories came rushing back.

*Flashback*

"Little miss nothing, we meet again," Lila's voice rang through her head.

Marinette gave her a glare, she hated her. Lila threw her straightened brown highlighted hair back and snickered; then she turned her attention to the files the bluenette had in her hands and grinned.

"Oops," she gave a fake apology and giggled as she pushed the files and watched in satisfaction as the contents fell all over the place.  Marinette hurriedly collected them while blinking fiercely to stop her tears that were threatening to spill. 

Then, Chloe came along; The poor bluenette didn't see her coming and just continued picking up her assignments. Chloe acknowledged her presence by kicking Marinette's chest using her 5-inch leather heel boots, that hurt. And at her suffering, the two 'friends' burst into a fad of laughter.

They always thought that they could do whatever it is that they wanted and get away with it, but little did they know that this bullied, depressed, innocent girl had more to her than what meets the eye. She targeted them, but they brought it upon themselves by choice; they made her life a living hell, and even they knew that someday they would have to pay their dues.

They were bullies who made tons of mistakes, starting from the second they decided to bully people. Although, mistakes are plentiful in one's life right? But out of all the mistakes that they made in their life, one cost them their very lives; they underestimated people.

They walked away without a single pang of regret and left a broken Marinette who was in tears behind; and to top it off, everyone laughed at her. She was utterly humiliated. The feeling still haunted her to this very day, it hurt. It cut deeper than any knife and left a wound so big, nothing could ever heal or stitch it, not even love; or so she thought.

"One day, Chloe and Lila, both of you will pay. And all the damage you've caused is worth your very soul," then her gaze fell to her surroundings "All of you will pay,"

The two girls sashayed away and looked back at her as they were entering  class, they teased her and made fake crying expressions while howling with laughter, just then Marinette finished picking up all the files. She stood up and shot them an icy stare, saying the words that kept on echoing through her mind;

"One day, you will die..."

*Flashback ends*

Marinette bent down and faced her victim, she stared at the brunette's dark green eyes; they were open and still collecting dust. She dropped the knife by her side and smiled.

My vow has been fulfilled

"Lila, remember this, forever: you brought this upon yourself, you had a choice." She paused and saw a note right next to Lila's study. Furrowing her brow, she picked it up. It was quite small, a piece of folded up thin cream coloured paper; most probably from one of her sketchbooks she never bothered to use. She didn't know much, but she knew that Lila still bullied people, she still tormented them and picked on them; the bluenette gave a frown;
