Barry and Kara's Apartment (Barry's POV) - One Week Later

It's been a week since Kara and I started dating. I was scared at first, I will admit, dating your best friend was obviously extremely risky. I had no idea what would happen between us, but it was worth the risk to figure out. I always knew that deep down, Kara was the most special woman in my life, and honestly it was impossible to picture myself with anyone else. I felt really confident about us, and I was determined to become the best version of myself, for her.

Now before I go on and explain how things are right now between us, I want to get one thing straight. We haven't gotten to the 'lovemaking' stage yet. It's only been a week, and we didn't want to start off our relationship with sex. The most we've done is some kissing on the bed, but nothing more. We've kept our clothes on and kept our hands off areas we weren't ready to touch yet. Got it, good.

We've been keeping our relationship low key so far. No one knew yet, but I really wanted to change that. I know that we've only been dating for a week, but I so desperately wanted tell everyone. I wanted to be able hold her hand and kiss her in front of our closest friends, but Kara insisted that we keep our relationship to ourselves for now. She promised that we would tell everyone one day, but I didn't know when that day was.

I've been awake for half an hour now. I would have gotten up by now, but Kara had her head rested on top of my chest. She was still fast asleep and I didn't want to wake her yet. She looked so at peace and I didn't want to take that way. Instead of trying to find a way out of this position, I just closed my eyes, messaged her scalp by running my fingers through her hair, and listened to her light snoring. As I laid there, I couldn't help but smile to myself at how perfect things were.

I looked over at the bedside and noticed that was already 8 AM, how was she still asleep? She was going to late for work. Using both my hands, I lifted Kara's head off of me as gently as possible and placed it back down on the pillow. I carefully got out bed and raced into the kitchen to begin making breakfast for her.

After finishing making a meal large enough for a crew of construction workers, I went back into our bedroom and noticed Kara still sleeping.

"Come on Kara." I said out loud hoping her super hearing would wake her, but it didn't. So instead I needed wake her old fashion way. I grabbed my pillow and began repeatedly hitting her face with it, "Wake up... Wake up... Wake up."

"Ugh... Stop it... Barry!" I began to hear after three hits. She sat up and stretched herself out, "Really? A pillow? What happen to the waking up to a soft morning kiss?"

I couldn't help laugh at her pouting face, "Nah. This is much more fun."

"You better hope I never have to wake you up." She threatened me.

"Alright, alright." I leaned over the bed and gave her what she wanted. I leaned in and gave her quick kiss on the lips, "Better?"

"Yeah, lead with that next time."

"Hopefully breakfast makes up for things." I said to her. I immediately saw her eyes light up.

"You're the best boyfriend ever." She pulled my face in one more time and planted a quick kiss on my cheek. "I'll be right over, let me shower quick."

I watched as she stumbled of bed and into the shower. It was mornings like these that made me wish one of us would have said something about our feeling earlier. We could have been having moments like these much, much earlier.

Barry and Kara's Apartment - After Breakfast (Barry POV)

"Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go." I rushed Kara out the door, "You're going to be later."
