Chapter 24

NCPD CSI Lab (Alex POV)

I walked past the front desk and headed up the stairs to the CSI Lab. On my way there, I took my time look around and admire the place. I've never actually been inside the NCPD. Sure the technology was low grade compared to the stuff we have at the D.E.O, but it was still nice. I remember playing police officer with my dad when I was little, looking around at this place brought back all those memories. When I was little, I always wanted to be either a doctor or a police officer, but of course I threw that dream away when Kara came into my life.

Of course I love my sister and I would never trade my life for any other, but I can't help sometimes to think about how different my life could have been like if I decided to pursuit those old dreams of mine. Maybe if I had someone around to help me take care of Kara, like an older brother or something, then maybe things could have been different.

As I continued to daydreamed about what could have been, I didn't see where I was walking and I ended up bumping into someone.

"Oh!" I take a couple of steps back to regain my balance, "I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

I quickly squat down and collect all the papers that I caused the officer to drop.

"It's alright." The officer assured me.

As I handed back the papers, I couldn't help noticing the officer. She was a woman with tan skin, brown eyes, and black hair, "Sorry about that... Officer Sawyer?"

She gave me a smile, "Don't worry about it, thanks for the help."

As she walked away, I couldn't help but turn my head back to look at her one last time. She was very attractive.

I was around the corner to Barry's lab when I stopped myself because I hear a bunch of loud whispering and laughing sounds coming from inside.

"Barry stop. You know I'm ticklish there."

"I know, I just love seeing your reaction."

"Barry we can't do this right now, what if Alex comes by and see us."

I didn't feel right eavesdropping on there conversation so I decided to show myself, "Hey guys."

As soon as I made the turn into the lab, I felt a gust of wind almost knock me back. Once I got my hair out of the way, I noticed Kara and Barry standing at opposite sides of the room. Each wearing a very suspicious and nervous look.

"Heeey." They both responded in scary unison.

"Hey? Everything ok here?" I asked. I looked around for clues at what was going on. I quickly noticed that Barry's chair was tipped over, both Kara's dress and Barry's shirt where wrinkled, and Barry's hair was all a mess.

"Yeah, yeah. Why wouldn't we." Barry quickly answered.

"Yeah. We're not up to anything." Kara quickly backed him up.

I looked between the two and noticed there sweaty faces. I know something is up, but honestly I didn't care right now. I was way to hungry, "Well alright, I only have an hour's break so can we please eat."

Me dropping the subject easily fixed the two of them. They loosened up their posture and finally began to stop sweating.

"Yeah oh course. Barry brought pizza all the way from Coast City." Kara explained to me.

"Best in the world." He followed behind her with three large pizza boxes.

We all sat down by the large window and took a box. I took a seat opposite from Kara and Barry, and quickly devoured my first slice, "Wow, you're not kidding, that is amazing."
