Chapter 15

Downtown National City - Two Months Later (Kara POV)

"Supergirl the armored truck just made a left hand turn on West Boulevard." Winn instructed me from my ear coms.

"I see it." I looked at the target from above and made my way to it.

D.E.O (Barry POV)

"I still don't understand why I couldn't go with you Kara." I said as I watched her GPS figure move on the big screen. Once again I've been sidelined and was forced to watch from the bench, "It's a robbery Kara, not an alien attack. I can handle that."

"Barry I told you. When you are ready. We made a deal remember."

"Yeah I remember." Damn, it has been two months and I still haven't gotten my first mission yet. I had been training like crazy everyday; I've learned to throw lightning, run on water, create mini cyclones with my arms, run up buildings, and phase through objects. The only move that I haven't learned to do yet was the super sonic punch, but other then that I felt confident and ready. There was nothing more I wanted then to get out into the field, but no one trusted me yet, "Well I'm going to head back to the NCPD, I have a ton of paperwork to do. See back at your apartment Kara."

Downtown National City (Kara POV)

"How many times have I told you Barry, it's our apartment now, you live there too. Ok... I'll see you later." I knocked out the robbers and left them for the police. I quickly flew back into the air and headed for the D.E.O.

D.E.O (Kara POV)

"Another crime stopped!" I announced as I landed in the D.E.O.

"Way to go Supergirl." Winn said giving me a high five. As I walked back to the desk I noticed J'onn walking up to me with a folder.

"Ahhh... Another mission for me J'onn?" I asked as I excitedly reached for the folder.

As I was about to grab it, J'onn ripped it away from my grip, "Not for you Kara, it's for Barry. Is he still here?"

"He just left. Why did... um... why are you giving Barry a mission?"

"I been thinking that maybe it was time we sent him out into the field, so I found a simple mission he can do for the D.E.O."

"Into the field?" I don't know why, but that made me nervous to hear, "Y... You sure he is ready?"

"Oh he is more than ready Kara." Winn cut in, "I've reviewed his training videos and his performance is top notch. He has passed every single one of our test with flying colors. He is more than ready."

"Plus Kara he has shown much maturity." J'onn piled on, "He hasn't disobeyed a single command, he never complains, never skips practice, and basically shown overall compliance with all D.E.O regulation. Which is more than I can say about you."

"Me?" I felt offended by that, "What is that supposed to mean?"

"Please Kara. You were such a wild child when you first came to the D.E.O." J'onn laughed at me, "Disobeying orders, disobeying D.E.O protocol, sneaking out on your own missions; it was so hard for me to trust you out in the field at first."

"Yeah. Plus I've ran out of ideas on how to test him, Kara." Winn said to me, "I've tested everything; reflexes, strength, speed, stamina, endurance, intelligence, and overall anything else you can think of. I even blindfolded him, tried one hand behind his back, and made him fight mechanical robot I built... He destroyed that thing on his first try."

I had to admit that was impressive, but I was still not convinced. I don't want Barry going out into the field yet, "Well what about you J'onn, can't you test him, make sure he is really ready."
